The new Horizon Cabinet, I find looks pretty cheap and those buttons definitely take the pi55. Has anyone else had problems with these on stops etc.
I have always liked the Barcrest Genesis cabinet which is extremely popular. It's a good design with the pay tray well incorporated unlike where they look like they have just been stuck on such as in the Eclipse cabinet from BFG.
Anyone out there got a personal favourite or had any major problems from a players or tech's point of view.

The Prototype Horizon Cabinet was better. (Rare Vamps and All fired ups)
Better Button ergonomics and a quiet payout.

I personally don't like Horizon cabinets due to their unresponsive buttons, especially when doing skill-stops. I find also the buttons tend to stick, not good if you're trying to nudge things in on reels or on hi-lo gambles as you can accidentally go the 'wrong' way (like lower than a 3 or something). Eclipse (Bellfruit/QPS/Mazzoma) and Genesis (Barcrest/Red) cabinets are a LOT more responsive.
Do you know where there's any pics of that prototype?

I played one of those AFU's in that cabinet that never get released. Was in York train station. They had big wedge shaped hold buttons and stuff like that.....like jeff says, they were probably better

Yeah, I liked them. All the Vamps I found in that cab picked as well

The AFU dragon was all stretched and looked weird.

Yeah the genesis and new genesis cabinets look the best in my opinion. I used to quite like the look of the old maygay cabinets aswell (simpons new york new new york)
The worst cabinet I saw was probably the old bellfruit smiley cabinet ( the one pac man and crazy fruits is in)

I don't like the cabinets, or more specifically the buttons, at all.
I've had several now where the buttons stick. When you're on a 12 and want to go lower to scoop top feature it's f**king annoying when the button aint working very well!

I actually like this cabinet, although the other day i did come against a Docs N Nurses with a middle button which was not connected to the system which prevented going higher on numbers and holding the reels.

You ever play in york station matt?? (not sure if you're based in cambridge or york now) but i was there last week, and they have a rocket money, piggy bank, and bling bling... all of which were ready.
I'd have thought it would've been well covered.

Hmm, last time i was there it was CCP/SZ/MM. I don't live there any more, but i did well when i did live there. Used to practically live in Nobles in town, and made loads of out there. About a year ago there were 4 good keyable extremes, 5 Wobblers and some nice reds. Then the chavs learnt how to do it, and the arcade nurses doesn't key, and the campers in spoons and the daunting in o'neills were always toast. Nowadays its a sack of shite really, last time i was in spoons it had:
Dough Ho Ho
Juggling Jackpots
Take The Piece
Cleudo
Jekyll & Hyde
Now if that isn't the worst selection you've ever seen, god knows what is! :x

I've come across a few that have better buttons on now. A couple of red's like Vortex and Lucky Devil. Has anyone noticed an improvement ?
