Those of you who say Mega Zone is shit, I actually agree with you today. Even though it was backing I put £20 through one today and ended up with a grand total of £3, was only offering shit like Pick a Reel which gave a cherry for 50p rounding up to a pound, then got a £2 win through Pick a Win. Yesterday however because of some fucking chav kids (aged about 16-17 I think) loitering about a foot away, was on the last credit which got me on the board through Selector giving me Super Zone Active (no extra life) I was one gamble away from IM (had 12 on the superboard and I was about to go lower) and one of the little bastards reached over and pressed the button on the features hi-lo to go LOWER than a 3 to kill the game giving a 6. The little bastards legged it when they got caught doing that by staff and were banned.

I doubt you would have got the IM then by the sounds of its state. Normally takes about £70 odd to get JP from dead, which is pointless as it hardly ever runs for anything decent.

Funny thing is with the state I expect Top Dog was full and bursting then it would not be long before a streak.

You want to take the first JP if it goes dead then recycle the JP and play on, but I have found that it will give a JP very long time after and then streak, maybe it was just a one off but then again maybe not

debate-able there are a few people who made quite a lot of money from that series of machines

we'd have to be talking original version, ie, the jackpot release it was ment for £15/£25 etc...

although there IS ONE that was first designed for a £15 jackpot and was released to £25 without ANY revision apart from the £15 pictures and programming were changed to £25...
there was a "cheat" to this machine

although this left a nasty sting in for the people playing it after one had been "done" it was also a very very bad machine to play for anyone playing one that wasnt getting ripped

they never got chipped as far as i know and i havent seen one since the release sitings....

the machine i refering to was of course MONEY MAD MARTIANS!!

id rather play megazone till i died than play a money mad martians on a bad day after its been ripped off or on a rechip (if there ever was one)

Yeah, can be good for a quick quid or 2 but more often then not, £1 in, £2 in, £3 in, still no board, £4 in, finally a board, and you're lucky to get more than £4 back.

You could force one then take all the after play (which can be very good on occasions) after the mega streak i've banked up another £40-£50 from good features and repeating £3/£4/£5 (had £5 repeat 4 times once) but they just don't play like they used too

i have to diagree with a lotof machines on this thread. A lot ofthe machines were highly profitable when they were out.

2 be honest barcrest have made some good machines there are only a few sets of machines that have been shit in a players eyes
cash bang wallop and clones
bling king and hop clones
mega zone
and a few more.

barcrest have been kind in giving us a load of machines we could profit on, supercharged and CA
fireballs and D&P were just a licence to print money when they were first out and no knew setups and gambling up.
topdog and big cheese
golden dragon and clones, easy money
red hot knights and clones
austin powers and KK
pysco cash beast and frenzy
lotta luck and clones, very profitable before about 10 rechips
vamp it up and clones
and a few more like up and over with jp shortcut etc

so credit to barcrest for lining my pocket with many thousands over the last 9 years
