What if if they did though?

If you were in the pub trade and knew nothing about machines and the local machine engineer spouted a load of tosh about dump codes,you'd be more likely to believe him than the guys taking the dough out of your machine,would you not?

Yeah, fair point there, some people believe literally anything though as this thread proves, sounds like a jobsworth engineer yanking his chain.

I heard an engineer warning the manager about the fraud being commited on the paragons a while back...

People were apparently fraudulently taking £50 jackpots out of the Stakka game.

So, engineers are stupid sometimes too.

Mr Landlord guy, trust who you like, if we disagree with you then you wont listen, as you seem to have already made your mind up, and must know better than everyone else here.

I would say that if people were putting codes into your machine, then the programmer would get the jail, if such behaviour was then repeated, the suppliers such as GamesTec etc would no longer buy the companys machines. Hardly a sustainable business model.

And finally, if someone knew "Jackpot" codes for your machine, do you think they would be stupid enough to come back time and time again? Surely theres enough machines to just travel around, a different pub every time. A good analogy would be a theif robbing the same shop every thursday afternoon between 2 and 4...

This reminds me of the old cops 'n' robbers button code that gave loads of repeats on the three quid ,the programmer got clink for that .it's been brought up on here a couple of times,maybe more.

If the OP runs a busy venue, then it's reasonable for the machine to be jackpotted 5 times in a weekend. One of my local clubs had a Gold Strike, which was being jackpotted every half an hour. (one of the very few machines that I was actually good at).

Umm, you can keep telling me this but how the hell does a machine get dropped 5 times in one week when its rarely played on??
