Say Glendale told someone how to play East Wing/West Wing for instance, perhaps he thinks he's doing them a favour as that person is struggling financially, and he felt good to be helping them out. I've done the same for a mate in Hastings years ago on HiLoWatha as there were seven in the town. After they were chipped or disappeared, he stopped playing and went back to work. So I've passed info on before, as I'm sure every other person on this forum has.

NoelsBeard: are you sure you're from the North-West and not the South East?

I'm not sure why my location is relevant. But this issue covers the whole country. And Glendale has effected the NE. Steve, with his ESB knowledge, encroaches on the NW.

But this isn't the way it works for the more established player. I don't need to look over people's shoulder, or beg. If someone has something great & I never get to find out! That's great! I'm happy for you and you have my respect!

arh i see now, you dont need to watch others on machines or beg for info as your contact(s) are super top boys who have established themselves to top boy status so don't have the need to come on a forum and moan about the activitys of other players

enlighten a little on the workings of the established player, because your coming across a little sour. its another case of whoever you speak to is absolutely fine because they are your contacts and your contacts only share between yourselves(your group must be pretty good at working things out). then whoever else communicates are idiots. is that the jist of it or am i way off the mark?

You're at least a little wide of the mark. I'm not going to pretend to be in fruit machine exile, but I can say with relative confidence I haven't introduced anyone on to the scene, which I think you'll find, was my principle concern. And it's a sad reflection of the way things are that I'm able to know what tricks are being talked about without ever having to give anything back. It will start with a rumour, have I heard anything on x, which I will always deny; and end with the dilemma of whether to take something you already know from someone, and have them think you owe them; or admit you've had it a while but were unwilling to share. As for my status, I have never attested to being a 'top boy' and nor will I.

You're accusing me of hypocrisy, and seeing as we don't know each other I'm not going to be offended by that. But the attitudes shown here are shocking. How blind are you all not to see that this isn't one giant love in? How selective have you been in reading my posts to concentrate on trying to brow beat me, and not see the wider picture? You say you're in it for your own gain Dixie, in which case any players you meet are your direct competition, and should be treated as such. We obviously have polarised views on the way to conduct oneself, I'm not going to try and trump you here, all I have been trying to say is that one is constructive to the scene and one isn't.

We're all after some information that is exclusive in some way, I'm just trying to return the bar to the higher level that I remember. I don't like finding machines dead all the time. That isn't how I remember thing. Maybe you guys are happy with a much higher percentage of informed players, but you too will have your tipping point. If I went to your area, and visited all your scores, and told the regulars in every pub exactly how to play the machines, would THAT be enough for you all? I'm guessing even you fruit machine commies would get the hump then. Like I say, this is capitalism. I'm after the money of anyone else who plays said machine. And the best way to insure this is to play my cards as close to my chest as possible.

Actually I avoided that purposely. Now everyone who reads this thread knows there is a way to play Red Mists. And now I know there is a chip on Dublin Yer Money. Thanks for that, I'll put that in the bank with the other nuggets of info. And when I next see someone playing a Dublin Yer Money I'll ask, is it chipped? And they'll probably presume I know how to play it and carry on in front of me. Credibility is something that would obviously be easy to fake with yourself.

i see your point about the dublin, but seriously, if someone wants info that badly then whether they know about a dublin being chipped or not will not stop them sharking the person playing the dublin and seeing exactly what they are doing. if they speak to the person and ask if its chipped then i highly doubt they will just stand there and play it in front of a stranger. even if they do so what. people can get info in lots of ways. off a close friend, a contact, watching people, on the net, etc. you wont stop it. at the end of the day everyone has the right to make some money, its just some are lucky enough to get the info and some poor bastards have none and get raped on the machines or rely on luck. we live in a pretty big country with a lot of machines, and imo if a player is moaning that other people are getting wind of a bit of crappy esb info then clearly they cant be doing a good enough job, and if things are that bad why not get a real job? your making tax free money ffs. all you need is some info, no horrible boss, your own working hours, etc. i know its tough, but it has its perks aswell, so i just think less toys need to be thrown out of the pram for whatever reason and more machine playing needs to be done, or failing that getting a job in the real world, to see how much of a ballache that is, working 8 hours a day in a shitty low paid job, being stuck in traffic every day, etc.

if your posting on FC at 11:41am on a monday, after all the student pubs and clubs have been filled up over the weekend, and theres potential to make a fat profit, then no disrespect, but its you that has some sort of problem here.

I can see I'm gonna have to concede this aren't I? I'm not too surprised that on a message-board setup to promote discussion, my stance would be the proverbial lead balloon. Fair enough...I'll keep my thoughts to myself.
