Engineers
Well actually it wasnt a rechip or a software update to be honest as this was mainly done back in the workshop. Like I say they didnt seem bothered about machines been "done" they simply swapped them around usually in the back of a car! (and yes this was a big supplier). Sometimes one engineer would spend the day updating a specific machine but in the 1 year I was there it was never me and occured maybe 3 times.
The only security based "update" i ever did involved putting a metal "sheet" on the inside of barcrest genesis cabs as apparently people were inserting things inside these cabs which caused coins to regect but still credit.
Please belive me that most of the engineers simply do what they are told and many dont even play fruit machines themselves or understand hence why I think many actually believe secret codes excist etc.
I was doing the job when Extremes were big the refill key thing and none of the engineers knew about any rips etc, all we were told to do was disconnect refil keys until machines returned to base

o.k ,you're gonna get bent engineers just like you get bent coppers ,judges, and airline stewards.
as McStreak says ,tis not wise to tar them with the same brush.i know and have known plenty over the years both personally and professionally, they are normal guys just trying to make a living just like you and i.
another good reason to give these guys a break is that we have got a nice few of them who come on here and help out joe public with their techie problems for free and without them we'd be fooked.

It's also a sign of professionalism that you don't talk about your ex-employer. You are far less likely to land employment in the same field if you have a history of revealing embarrassing information about your previous employer.

Funnily enough no one ever asked for locations whilst I worked for them
DP Leisure, Tunmore Leisure and Independent Leisure must be the 3!!!!
