its looking for a data pack, no idea why you would have a data program if it a personal use machine.

anyways datapac could be faulty, disconnected or needing an operator key reset.

all depends on what data unit you have in it.. :)

it all depends which datapack unit you have.

could u post some photo's of the inside of the machine? , include one of the main board.. :)

there are reasons why a datapack would fail after 2 years:

1: battery problem
2: datapack full

had to rearrange the way the board fits, it used to be in the bottom of the machine, but it's in the top unit now. next to the reel mech.

took the reels out to photo it

the data pac is the board in picture 3 ,check that it is connected to the main board and possibly the door switches

as said above picture 3 is the datapack

it is a wired midas slave, gamestec uses/used these with their midas system before it all went wireless.

this is the plug it uses to connect to the board (circled in red, black plug, grey wire)

as mentioned above, make sure its in correctly.

if thats ok, then next likely cause is that the slave memory is full.

look where i have circled on your image.

underneath the wires you should see two pins with a little red or black jumper connector.

if you taker this jumper off it disconnects the live from the battery.....

disconnect the slave from the machine and take the jumper off., leave it for a minute or two.

this will clear the data from the slave.

connect it all back up and hopefully it will start working again..

if you ant find the jumper, then you can short the battery out with a bit of wire, effectively does the same thing :)

are the door switches working properly or are they taped up/ disconnected?

you have a couple of options.

either source a replacement data unit or source some standard eeproms , this will allow the machine to function without a datapack.

the question is .. where would you get them lol

also worth noting the midas slave unit you have is prone to dry joints.

if you are handy with a soldering iron (or know of someone who is), could have a look at the pcb and maybe resolder some of it.. :)

oky doky. door switches all ok as far as i can tell. Changed the bottom one and it made no difference.

Will whip out the board next and check for dry joints. dont want to be beaten! lol

thanks everso for all your help

ok. may have found the fault. (hopefully)

the battery looks very furry underneath and some of the board looks 'leaked on' directly under it.

what do you think? try a new battery? Its a varta 068 will i get one from Maplins or somewhere else?

bingo.. :)

see if you can clean the leaked acid away from board...

hopefully theres no damage
check ebay for batterys, or googling awp battery/ fruit machine battery
