ok. not battery :-( had the proms redone and took the slave board out. still coding. apparently i should be able to run it without the board if the proms are reprogrammed, which i did. Spoke to bell fruit, they said new data pak needed (?) which they dont do! said to try one from another machine to confirm fault, but i dont have one. Any more ideas anyone? losing the battle here me thinks :-(

See if you can borrow or buy a data pack with the guys at mecca.
Be polite and you might get what you want :)

mecca dont use midas, but they do have data units which would work.

problem is you need an operator key/fob to reset these data units whenever a door switch is activated....

best bet is to get a set of non-data eproms..
problem solved.. :)

take the slave out the machine altogether then, its not needed :)

still alarming whats the alarm code?

when the machine is powering up, what does it say on the display?

well the guy i went to reprogrammed some for me. I still have my originals. tried it with and without the slave board, and it still didnt work.

DATA PORT ERROR 71

it powers up, checks the note acceptor, display says 'initializing' then 'checking sounds' then it codes 'data port error 71'

maybe the proms didnt programme right? I dont know. Think we just going to have to scrap it :-(
