Yes I would describe myself as an armchair socialist. As I've said, I don't really like the way the western world works but I'm happy to take advantage, seeing as most people seem to hold material goods in high esteem.

I do believe that most businesses rip people off somehow. That's probably the backbone of Capitalism, but I'll admit this is just a point of view.

I don't pay more tax than I have to in any way. And I don't give money to charity very often. This is for a number of personal reasons, mostly linked to the way this money is used. It's no secret that much of this money is taken up in bureaucracy.

Capitalism should have been allowed to fail when the banks went bust. Business operates in smoke and mirrors in ways most people cannot even conceive. Happy with your cheap Wetherspoons Steak? Tastes great, and what a bargain. Of course, you haven't factored in that the chef is on minimum wage and you'll be topping up his pay packet with state sponsored tax credits.

I judge people by both what they do and what they don't do. Fundamentally you make some very good points. I just would have stopped short of saying that makes you in some way a better person, or provides a better legacy for your kids.

Yes you can make a voluntary payment or declare income that you want I be taxed.

I think plum probably got told not to fraternise with the enemy after astra's recent gaffes.

It's the eternal dilemma of how to justify that your time and work is worth more than those working beneath you (and I don't mean physically beneath you - you filthy buggers).

No economic system provides adequate security from the greed of the individual. It's just Capitalism, especially Enterprise Capitalism, seems to relish in the accumulation of needless wealth at the expense of so much else. At a time when it was predicted we would all be working less, and enjoying the simple pleasures of life, building upon the advancements made in Science and Technology: we have still to break free of the shackles of materialism. The gap between rich and poor continues to widen in many economies, and I think we have big business to thank for this.

With the demise of the independent artisan, and shrinking workforces overtaken by factories which run at a fraction of the price: industry is a prime example of why very few businessmen can be proud. Motivated not by the well being of their workers, as Business families such as Cadbury were; but by the greed of their share-holders, it's no wonder that business has become synonymous with greed. It's with these ideas in mind that when I think of Blackmogu's move towards the completion of 'projects' and the satisfaction he draws from this, I'm not inclined to respect him. He has no doubt ploughed his furrow and will yield his crop: but may leave a legacy less altruistic than my own.

i used to try my hardest to make hundreds a day then the next day spend it all on nice things then go playing again then go spending.
my mates have allways known me to spend loads of money every day i wasnt playing, drink, meals out, takeaways, ps3 and plasma in every room, expensive clothes and accessories, but ive never had money saved in the bank, just the wod of notes in my pocket.

now im getting married next year i have to start saving up :/
2 - 3 months ago i did save £2500 in 3 weeks after small spending but then i bought my missus a new car, so i saved again over the next week or 2 and got it back then bought her wedding dress and payed for a wedding venue, now im saving again but want a mk2 zafira so gonna go egg again.
i just cant save :/

ofcourse they needs to be a balance and everyone is diffrent. iv saved a few grand and some how iv got the idea i want a quad on the road. so instead off it doing fuck all in the bank i thought im going to treat myself. been having a snoop around to see what i can find.
