No offence, (although if you do take offence I don't give a toss) but you are one of the people on here who can't resist stating how much you've earned, and if you are away doing something then you'll be quick to point out on here that you have something, and how much you have made off it....

So you are trying to make a name for yourself, whether you like it or not!!

Stating you've had a great day is fine, but it doesn't need to be followed up by the exact amount you've made. Why would you, and others, feel the need to disclose that information?

The answer....

Because your image is very important to you, and you feel the need to compete, simple as that.

I agree it takes planning and discipline, but there is no skill required at the moment to make decent money, which is why there are so many people at it.

The Dark Horse wrote:At the end of the day there are players who are shit hot on the reels, work things out etc.,but they are all always skint due to their gambling/other problem. There are also donk/clown/rats who barely understand the info they are TOLD but still make over a grand a week easily due to sheer effort.

TBH I've gotta say I have more respect for the rat who does well. They are usually better players in the game of life.

You see most players are losers in the G.O.L unfortunatly. I know adult virgins with health problems at young ages, socially inept with no real friends, only other players to speak to. Very sad people.

In fact this will probably offend some people on here but if I was to stereotype a pro fruit player I'd profile them as over/underweight and unhealthy with pending health problems, little or no social life/friends outside the other players they know, unconfident with women so had little or no serious relationships/sex and usually scruffy looking, taking little care of their appearance and living well below their means in cheap clothes and shit cars/homes.

If some or all of these characteristics ring a bell thats because that is what playing fruits full time has done to your life. Left you with no aspirations or healthy peers, outcast from society you can't even get a loan from the bank. Sad but true.

This is the devil's game, just like drug dealing, living off money born from others unhappiness will only bring you unhappiness yourself in the long run. As is the way of Karma, tainted money brings misery to most who touch it.

Maybe thats just my darker perspective on life, but personally a pro fruit player is something I'm embarressed to call myself, however well I've done from it. You are one notch above a criminal in society and treated as such regularly unless you flash your money about.

By the way people who think it's shit the moment that because we haven't had the mass of quaity new releases we've been spoilt with the last couple of years. Thanks to shit players who sell info on sites like these the rats aren't off your level of info now. They have more motivation than you because they are newer to the game and hungrier for the money, so you find your area burnt by people who've taken half the money you would have but have still ruined things for you.

fantastic post ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, and whether we are offended or not lol ,,,,, your generalisation of the typical pro player is pretty much spot on ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, im sure all of us have at least one of those particular traits ,,,,,,,,,, (even if we wont admit it) ,,,,,,, personally i have no real friends outside of slotting , but i also think marriage plays it part in this ,,and makes it more difficult to socialise ,,,,,,,,, also i simply cant find the time ,,,,,,,,,,,, and also if im honest (despite the job) im not a down the pub type of person and would much sooner cuddle up with a good film.

i also like what grant said about designer clothes ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

its a tuffy really ,,,,,,,,,,, we all want to look smart ,,,,,,,,, but wearing good designer clothes does give off the impression that you are carrying money ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, which is not the intelligent thing to do in some of the shitholes we put ourselves through.

Saying that, I did shell out on a jacket last month. Cost me £23.

Talk about feeling faint afterwards.

out of all the players ive met

70% wear branded clothes
29% wear cheap clothes but look smart
1% = tramp (you know who you are)

30% have saved money
35% dont save but have money around them to have a good life
35% spend all the cash on beer / sniff / hoe's / fastfood and crap

30% have wives / long term partners and kids
10% have loveless marriages but lie to themselves due to too much time apart and thinking of the game too much.
60% just havent got time for a full time bird or have casual relationships

60 % are over weight
30% are average/healthy weight
10% are skinny as feck!

30% drive
50% need drivers
20% stick to trains wether they drive or not.

i myself
go out playing 2-4 times a week
dont have much savings
have a wife and kids and get on well as a family
dont drive till feb coz on a bann
not over weight but got a slight beer belly on its way
and like to wear designer clothes because ive been (maybe falsely) led to believe they last longer and look better.

i dont know any fat ugly virgin tramps that shop in oxfam and eat from bins tho.

Some great posts in here, I suppose I'm down near the rats level as I have a fulltime Job & flitter in and out of playing dependant on what playables are about.
Horse is spot on with some of his summary, some players don't know how good a life they have available to them, instead it's just play, play, play. They'll earn £250+ in a day then complain on here about rats and too many players just because 1 or 2 machines are dead or they've had to go into a few dodgy pubs because the easy ones are dead.

A lot of people have to work hard for a living, playing isn't really that hard, it can get you down yes, sure there's some dickhead landlords about but sometimes that's a pub you know your gonna get fire yet you've still chose to chance it. The only hard bit is you like anybody else require a certain level of income to survive/pay the bills, once you've reached that level anything else becomes luxury/greed.

I'm like Titch, I work to pay the bills & play to earn a bit of savings or buy a luxury item. I bumped into a couple of local fulltime players last week, Spent a good hour chatting over a few pints, swapped a few locations and went our seperate ways, I don't get all this animosity from some people, quick to boast how huge things are so the competition can't be that bad. There's only so many machines you can do in a week, It's Xmas, time for goodwill and all that :P

And Maverick, I know we've had a bit of a online battle in the past and I've tried leaving things alone but like Mcstreak has pointed out, A lot of your posts are Boasts, you come across to people that your above us all, just last week you just dropped in that you were paying Thousands into your bank account.
I always thought you were just a blagger, now I do understand that your a player but you don't need to keep making out your some top top boy, You've been around long enough for most to know who you are, you'll get more respect just trying to be friendly instead of (SP) condescending.

Gambo my fellow part time player. Not many people like me and you on here its mostly full timers.

I don't wanna come across as a dick but there is 1 or 2 that boast or maybe lie about things.

But respect to you lads making something of what's out there at the minute.

Whoever this dark horse is he has made some sense. I wouldn't say you can really judge a person's personality from his job, some are reserved and shy with the opposite sex, some aren't at all. Some are very intelligent, some are plain thick but can just follow simple instructions and won't gamble away what they make. Some are immune to the bug of gambling, some crave a 'real' gamble having made fortunes from what the masses believe are 'real' gambles all day long. Playing fruits never quenches the thirst of a gambler, you haven't gambled, just done what you know. Some people will never understand what we do and call us thieves/fraudsters, they say things like, "He can't be THAT lucky! Every time he comes in he wins!"

Playing fruits is a great job for someone who wants to run away from their problems! The wife gets on your nerves so you fuck off for a week, a month - doing a run and a runner. You're on the road, no one's bossing you about, no one's gonna fire you, give you a lecture, don't even need to answer your phone. You're free as a bird, the sky's the limit, you don't have to go back to anything. You could literally build yourself a new life from your next £100 if that was all you had left. For that reason, a fruit pro with the gambling bug will always want a gamble because if he loses all he made that day, month, year in the casino he can always start again with a new float the next day and go through it all again. One day he might get lucky, most days he won't, yet that lucky day will live with him forever whilst the bad day will go in to the memory banks along with all the other hundreds of bad days.

Unless he decides he has something to be happy about, make a life for, he will always have this attitude whether he's 20, 30, 40 or 60.

Fruits can genuinely sort your life out for you if you have the right attitude and want to do something with what you earn, if you don't its just a way to spend time in an otherwise empty existence or run away from problems.

If carlsberg did fruit chat awards.............

It's a lifestyle choice that many make, some save others spend can't really see the problem in both

I'm a family man who does this to provide and take care of them. I don't desert them anytime the better half wants to do something I'll bin going out even if I've not done as well for a few days
I rarely go out at weekends that's time off for me some people say the weekends are the best times but it's not all about the money
I'd rather paint a picture with my daughter than make a few quid the rewards in that far outway it all

Ive got savings nothing extravagant

I'm completely happy with my life and how I lead it

I've been known to post things that come across maybe as boastful but that was never the intention. I feel nothing can be talked about unless a mod or people the mods hold in high regard mention it first.

G's % descriptions are pretty accurate for the players I've met anyways. I'd say 99% of the better players don't/wouldn't ever use a site like this or anyother

Really glad to read that mate, that's how it should be.

What's really frustrating is how some of us who could have done really well if we just stayed in university took the 'easy route' because living as a student is always a struggle and end up doing ourselves out of a decent living for the rest of our lives. If I knew then what I know now... life's all about experience...

Yes life is all about living it your way.

You only get one shot at it and since there is no afterlife whatsoever, you should really make the most of it.

Once you're dead - that's it. Nothing. No consciousness. No looking back on your life and wishing you'd done things differently etc. Nowt.
And you'll never be in existence again.

There. That's sort of killed the thread somewhat.

And I'm sure you all feel so much better!

Well no-ones ever came back have they?

And there's meant to be 12 virgins waiting "on the other side" for us, well as the only virgins I know are eighty-six year old spinsters and Anne Widdecombe, I can't really say I'm looking forward to death!
