bet fred - Debit Card

Post by ChrisBrighton »

Gents,

I was in Betfred yesterday and asked the member of staff to load £50 from my Debit Card onto the FOBT.

The first time it failed due to some sort of technical issue and he gave me the declined slip, and the second time he said the same thing happened again and he gave me what i thought was a declined slip.

I said not to worry and we agreed that it had no doubt saved me GBP 50.00.

However, I checked my account online later that evening and i found that £50 had been taken from my account!

I then checked the slips he gave me, and one of them actually said pin verified!

Im really pissed off with myself for being so flippant and not checking the slips.

What are you thoughts?

Do you think he deliberately mugged me off or genuine error.

Also, do you think i will be refunded and how would you go about it.

I look forward to hearing your thoughts/views.

Cheers.

Chris

Its like the signs you see in shops ''please check your change, as mistakes can not be rectified afterwards'' I would deffo be going in there tomorrow and telling him what he's done though, he should realise his mistake and sort it out.......In a perfect world, best of luck.

I used my debit card in the casino once, which had plenty of money in the corresponding account. I tried to take out £800, which got declined by the card processor.

I was a bit miffed since I knew I had enough money and there shouldn't be a problem. Anyway, thanks to online banking, I checked my account, and the £800 had been removed, even though the machine said declined !

I complained bitterly to the casino, who fobbed me off with "It's a problem with our card processor, call them."

I had to wait _10 days_ to get my money back !! Nice free revolving credit scam by the processors. Do that to 2000 customers and you can loan out ~1,000,000 at a nice interest rate for 10 days.

harrumpf !

Fred Done (BetFred) welshed on Barney Curley's betting coup last year to the tune of £850,000.

And they sold the Tote to this cnut. Thet won't take a decent bet and can CHANGE the odds AFTER you have placed the bet if they wish.

Caveat emptor.

Isn't it illegal to change the odds now betting debts are enfOrceable by law?

Even so, with the profile of gambling in the media being at is highest ever, that stance can never end well for a bookmaker...

Wife works for Betfred.
she says go back in with print out of account statement, and slip.
If shop refuses to refund, ask for customer service number and phone off your mobile - stood in the shop; tell customer services you are stood there.
Genuine error or not hopefully this will lead to a refund.

Worst betting shops ever for customer satisfaction etc. No bet taken bigger than £20 without them ringing security first then telling you that you can have the bet, but at a lower price.

"Bet with Fred - why bet anywhere else?"

Because, you ugly, balding old cunt, you're a shit bookie with bollocks prices.
Try this number: 0845 1300 286

Bookies like this should be shut down. If you advertise a price, you should have to accept all bets on it until you change it (not in the middle of a bet obviously though).

It's basically a cartel anyway, very rarely are their prices out of line with competitors and if yOu have a winning account you'll be barred. Bookmakers used to bet to opinions but they don't any more...

Hence why my use of betting exchanges has risen rather than bookies.

7.All Betfred.com prices are subject to change and are fixed only when a bet is struck. Should there be an obvious pricing error or system failure which leads to incorrect prices, lines or handicaps being displayed, any bets taken at these prices will be deemed void and all bets cancelled including multiples.. To establish the correct price at time of placement should there be a dispute, Betfred.com will consider industry prices available in the general market at the time the wager was placed. Should the error be noticed before the event is due to take place every effort will be made by the Betfred.com team to inform all those customers who have placed a wager. One of their books went 12/1 a few weeks ago whilst most of the others were going 9/1 and 10/1. A winning punter had his odds changed to 8/1 AFTER the event.

Also, they are registered in Gibraltar, so, they hide behind that as well.
