Vintage computing

Post by Mr Move It »

I was wondering if anyone still got a Speccy, C64, Amstrad CPC464, Amiga series, Electron and so on? Anything from the 80s really, before Apple & Microsoft took over the computing world.

I've still got a working Beeb (BBC Micro), rescued from my parents' loft a while back. Sadly most of my disks got chucked out - my fault for not asking them sooner. Luckily my Elite disk survived, which was one of the main games back in its day. I play on the Beeb emulator as well although I will try collecting games again using eBay.

i had an amiga for a while a year or two back, plugged it into my 40" tv.. looked amazing!!

back in the day, (bbc micro had its own monitor series) most computers had a tv adapter, which lost a lot of quality...

hook it to a flatscreen though and its stunning!

Dragons Lair was awesome in it's day. Light years ahead of other games. Was on one of these old 12" laserdiscs.

One of my other MASSIVE use of time was Fort Apocalypse and Rescue on Fractalus. Fantastic.

And of the same day, the best music of that time must have been a great contender in Warhawk. Not a great game but GREAT music.
