Emulator

Please excuse my lack of terminology here. I'm sure I'll pick it up the longer I hang around here.
I remember downloading a slot emulator a while ago that I could never get to work, is there a current emulator that can run any of the more recent machines?
If so, how accurate are the ROMs? I don't know if anyopne has come across MAME, but this ran the original ROMs for arcade machines . Are slot emulators the same, or do they actually simulate instead of emulate?
Sorry if I've confused people, but I'm hoping someone may understand what I'm trying to get across and be able to answer me.
Basically, I'm looking for an emulator that is accurate.

You can't get emulators for current machines, i think barcrest emulators are avilable upto 96 or something like that, i have about 2500 machines on my system and the newest ones are like, arcadia, red hot notes, italian job, club casino crazy, son of dracula etc....

But i prefer my classics anyway like crystal maze and jewel in the crown. oh and haagar. :D

Yeah hopefully mate it looked like at one point that an epoch emulator was on the way, but nothing came of it and there doesnt appear to be any new techs in the pipeline.

I could search, but I've just got back from the pub and it seems easier to ask. Can someone give me a link to an emulator?
Thanks in advance.

Prizeguy, do you have a link to any of the roms you mentioned? Also, which emulator do they need?
