Manufacturers emulating machines

Post by Marcossvon »

I know a few of you guys use the fruit emu sites. Great for trips down memory lane and maybe honing a few still needed skills. Here's my question.

Would it be in a manufacturers interest to release an online version of their £70 jp machines. Sure, I've seen the rainbow riches etc £500 randoms...bit as we know there is very rarely a method on these. I think it could have a serious effect on "pros" out there.

1. It would be a pay site, not an emu forum. They'd make money from the off.

2. These manufacturers are well aware of rips, and more worrying for them, emptiers. Let's say they release a well known "stake" rip machine online. Greedy (pros) couldn't resist short term gain. Any abnomal behaviour on a machine would be monitored and before you know it, the rechip is written for the machines in the wild.

3. It would be an easy way to test the machines for profitability. I'm not a techy guy....can it be done... And what would be the effects on your paydays if it was.

Sorry I missed this one - t'is indeed a good idea. There was a thread about this sort of thing a while back. I'd love to see it / be involved in working on it. Sadly though, it appears that Union Jackpots, which was a similar venture didn't fare too well. Unless I'm mistaken?

That's because Union Jackpots was a hole full of faulty machines

Yep.

I really wanted them to do well though.
What they offered in principle was very good,however....the end product sucked shit through a 50ft hose pipe whilst smirking at you across the abyss of ineptitude that it dragged itself from.

Constant errors insinuating foul play whilst on features (extremely over zealous stat monitoring no doubt),thus awarding zero prizes, tended to make my highly strung demeanour ascend to an crescendo of fury unparalleled by everything .....except maybe.....somebody stumbling upon a way to spell Mohammed that I have not previously heard of.

I did stumble upon a way to milk a certain game of all it's value ,but it only worked on 5p stake and they tightened it up quicker than a redlinesman security miester would usher his liege away from a potential method leaking scenario.

I took a look at the site the other day and they still have'nt added anything new ......contradicting what I was previously told by mr clacton.

Some rips/emptiers can't be performed on emu's all the time too!

Case study.

Donkey kong.

Manufacturer places machine online with same setup as "wild machines" . Soon it can be seen that the same player is "emptying" machine. This alerts manufacturer who sees method. Machine is reprogrammed online and in wild.

This would have a massive implication on any tricks in the wild....so why don't manufacturers have an online section?

because if we all hit the same machine on five different laptops and five different accounts at the same time one night and managed to kill something for an hour or two... they would be bankrupt

in "the wild" all they have to do is ring the 150 people who bought the machine and get them turned off... they can only lose a max of £350 per unit... so damage is limited..

if something good (take latest barcrest indy jones thing for example) was on the internet.. you could theoreticly take £7000+ within a couple of hours// times that by how many laptops you can get hold of and how many of us there are.. the company hosting the machines loses a couple of million within a day.

Which is why the manufacturer puts safeguards in place. As it's a true emulation, you would only be able to play that machine until the hopper (£350) say, is emptied. Once any machine is running "out of profile" access is denied and the rip/cheat is reprogrammed.

What Spyder means is you could just sign on with loads of different computers and bank accounts and keep emptying that machine! In the wild you have to go from pub to pub and many won't have the machine you want to hit and the ones that do will take up most of your day doing. One person could do hundreds in one day because you don't have to travel etc.

I'm not saying his point isn't valid. I'm trying to say that if £70 machines were released online you could put safeguards in place to stop empties.

It would be the perfect way to ensure profitability for the manufacturer in the long run. Ifi were a pro, it would worry the hell out of me that all machines could be released without some high profiting glitches.

i understand your point.. but they almost certainly wouldnt put actual machines that you play in the pub.. as someone would be able to reverse-engineer the online program that was running on their pc and then find anything wrong with it, then only play the machines in the pub..

what you are asking about semi-already exists..

go to "union jackpots" website and trial the freeplay games... (dont play for money its a bag of shite)

we actually worked out an empty for the test machines, which doesnt work on the real ones..

the "use nudge" button was still active on the money monsters machine, even when you had no nudges, then it would go into minus nudges and let you bring the jackpot in..

thisgs this simple dont happen in the "wild" but whatever they did, if they attempted internet games that crossed over to live awps.. they would lose a lot of money.. plus, it isnt actually viable to do (no-one would play them)... AFAIK percentage based games online arent monitored by bacta.. so a category c machine wouldnt have to perform to 70whatever %.. and probably wouldnt be allowed to have "connections inbetween plays" as £500ers arent.. no nudges or holds that alter the next spin of the reels...

union jackpots seemed to do it, but i still question the legality of this: although they state they have "instances" of games, just like having a room full of GAME-A and only letting however many machines there are there to be active at once, and each user that requests to play the machine gets given a random one and it continues the payout ratio from the last player... a bit like bing dropped in an arcade with earplugs and a blindfold then told to paly what you think might be ready.

Great post spyder.

I've been on union and know their limitations. Let's hope that technology doesn't improve to make this a money saver for manufacturers.

It wouldnt work though, say 100 people were playing a game at the same time and it had something that the slightly more clued up player could take advantage of. Say for example forcing.

Wouldnt the forcing player be able to just continually force over and over again because while hes at it everyone else is collecting/losing and replacing the value hes just took.

Either that or theyd have everyone playing their 'own' machine as such, but then you could just leave the game and go back into it and probably be playing another machine. Sounds like a dream to me.

And actually the emptier did work on UJ for real cash
