Was playing poker on a 6 seat cash table (only 5 seats were being played). Blinds were $0.50/1. I sat down and there wasn't a flop seen for my first 17 hands! A combination of raises and re-raises and 2 foldings of everyone. Thought it was pretty crazy!

I can't top 17 hands consecutively, but I have sat down at tables like that. You need to be confident to play and scared money will become terrified money, which is even deader. It'll be preflop mindfucks between bomb aggressive broadways and pocket sixes most of the time. Whenever you make a stand though, you'll need aces or better 'cos it's rigged(*).

yes, I've seen 20 hands but it was live and a much higher level.
£300 live tournament with some pretty serious players.
I think at $0.50/1 that might be quite rare.

to see that many hands without a river dealt is rare enough, let alone no flops.
