A lesson I learned the hard way.

$0.05/$0.10 and when your aces get blown, especially when you're 90/10 dominating, it's not so devastating. Otherwise it's hard luck and start from zero.

Thing is you say you'll never win big, well not immediately anyhow, but trouble is you get AA with 1k, you win......2k.....you get another monster and double up 4k......then you see AA again.....you know.....it's just a question of how long until they get cracked.

I realised that the reason I felt that cash games were a bit rigged was down to something called rake. You can hold your own in a game but unfortunately you need to do better than that to break even.

I'm having a bit of a brainwank on Rush poker atm, it's micro frenetic action for a $47 raise so far. However as you know my staple is the stt, one buy in, one payment of rake and the chance to win big if you play mtt or make regular steady profit on the 10handed/6 handed bloopers.

Poker is the most f'ing frustrating game out there, however it's only rigged when I lose.

Was playing at Red Kings tonight and got Kh Kd which under their current promotions nets the player $300 or $500 if they lose with them on a showdown. I made $25ish on the hand and just submitted to claim my $300 :P 8)

That seems a generous promotion. 2/52 * 1/51, let's say about 1/1250 of getting the red kings in pocket. So of course you limp and let as many others see cards, hell even check it down if someone is sitting out etc...

As we know preflop, domination and over pairs are quite commonly cracked. Trouble is, whithout the Rush Poker (patent pending) element, it's more like 100 hands per hour, so on average you need to play for 12.5 hours to get your kings and then say they get cracked 40% of the time by being deliberately weak with them. About 2500-3000 hands on average for the bonus.
Still seems more generous that your run of the mill bonus wager promos.
Depends on eligible stakes I suppose, interesting stuff anyhow.

How much rake do you have to pay to release?

Sounds a lot more gash now unfortunately.

Well it's $1 raked = 1 point - So for $2400 raked they give you $300  Gash isn't the word!!!

So effectively they're holding back 12c for every $ you rake. Wow!

I guess its ok if you play big stakes and the average pot is $50+, but if you don't, well you're goosed...especially if there is a 30 day period to earn your 2400 points.

Hope you release it Vince. :D

I think we should know now that there is NO such thing as a 'good' giveaway on these sorts of things. :( Been looking arond myself and all the 'teasers' ultimately lead to nothing...

I did get a good starting bonus, $10 for every 120 points I earn. I've got no chance of the 2400 tho, think I've got 55 days to acheive it :!:
