it might have been a better poll if you asked if anyone made over 50 quid a day. Anyone with a bit of sense can make 50 a week.

I was doing alright untill yesterday. Was about £90 up from Tuesday then meet a Phil The Power Taylor which seemed to be playing good from the off. Took £45 to see the DM which only went for £25 then onto a Throw A Wobbler with the same experience. Flat £25 red series which cost about £50

Lucky for me at the start of the week I found a Lucky Strike Un-chipped managed to play it once then 3 days later I get the big fat LOSE!

 you have got to laugh

Used to make at least £50 a day - on the days I played. I used to work nights and got into a really bad habit of working 12 hours - gambling all day - then going straight to work. I would sleep every other day and gamble the days in between. Fucked me right up I can tell you!
Made LOADS though, as I was paying the arcade workers for info. Bad day I would make £20, up to £250 on a good day.
Nowadays I play without any info, and very infrequently - I ALWAYS lose!!!!

True. Its a bit of a bastard forcing a double jp out of some old club machines. Longest I've played a machine is 34 hours straight.

lock in for you then harry???? what m/c was it??

to be honest i only play once in awhile cos fruitees nearly wreckedmy life a couple of years back actually i wouldnt blame it on the fruitees it was the fact that idont know when to stop if i win on one itll go in another if i win on that one it will go in another form one m/c to another and eventually your gonna lose and thats exactly what happened to me cant think of the amount of times i lost everything i had on pay day but luckily for me i came across horse racing and i seem to do ok on that but did have one of those days about 3 weeks ago when i was £350 up and was in the zone and started putting crazy bets as well as playing roullette andended up walkin out with 40p in my pocket . i even tried gamcare but for some reason i have nowill power theres something up top that doesnt want me to stop gambling lol

Was a member of Mr Smedley's site about 15 years ago. Sounding really old now but have just reached the big 4-0. The "session" of 34 hours was in a 24 hour snooker club c. 1990.

ps. I would gladly pay £50,000 if I could give up gambling. It's ruined too many peoples lives and now this irresponsible government is encouraging it even more. Next year bookies are planning to open from 10 am to 10 pm all year. You can walk into a casino now and join straight away and don't get me started on Section 16's. There is no place for these in "Amusement" centres.

I'm with you on the section 16's - amusement!!!!! FFS

If you wanna give up I would recommend going to GA. It really helped me - even though the guys there are usually morons. I went for about 6 weeks, and now gamble about £20 a month. I used to lose £500.

They will basically tell you to give your partner TOTAL control of your money. All my money goes into my wifes bank account. I have to ask her if I need anything. It IS a pain in the ass sometimes - But we've save a few thousand over the last 18 months, and all the bills are paid, we eat well.etc etc etc......I wouldnt go back to how I was.

That is insane! I spent nearly 4 hours forcing a club card shark on Saturday night and I felt pretty rubbish at the end despite turning a reasonable profit. The idea of a further 30 HOURS is just unimaginable!

You must have been utterly frazzled after that mate!

Long time ago I spent nearly 17 hrs on club cops n robbers 200quid vers.
that gave me a headache..cant do that anymore.
But these days ill go for quick profits would be well up but the bookies seem to be absorbing most of me winning's on the horses.
I usually am hammerin
srm
crwn jewels
legal tender
bfu,clones
bkc to a lesser extent.
which on a weekend would mount up to about 130 to 150 just by puttin a few pounds in a I can usually tell if im, gonna break even or i'm gonna make tenne twenty profit i'll walk.
I'll only force if droppin and playing really well or 'ill just bane it to fuck.
Because even after sometimes triin to force for the streak, not all ways gaurenteed to be much better off.and beuty is if you bane a mc and its dammn near full,i'tll play shit till it's full and beyond , the next fool thinks i'm in hear but he is not, coz I bained it. then I'll go back trying to time it for another canning , I just keep doing this untill he presto a streak with out trying.Doin it like this has made me more profit than any other way expt mty's
but Like I say, the cunt in the bookie is gettin richer from me, I end up about thirty to fifty a week up,It was ok to start with I couldnt lose, If I gave up the bookies I'd be sound and me girlfriend would be lot happier...

Twenty ones please, and make it quick.

For those that think gambling is fun please note.

I have lost about £300,000 gambling in the last 20 years. It's not about the money though. The amount of hours I have kept people waiting is terrible. When I was nine I used to go into the local arcade and knew the reels to the machines in the days before autonudge and would be given tokens to advise people of the best win. I would easily make £5-£10 a day which was a LOT of money to me then. When I reached 18 I began to play snooker clubs and ferries and won thousands and thousands but blew it on drinking and the horses or down the casino. Then I got a job at the racetracks and could bet all day and get paid for it. Did this for ten years earning peanuts but taking bets off of the other staff doubled my wages and would often get tips of the owners who ate in the restaurant where I worked. Gave this up and trained to be an accountant where I earned about £50,000 a year. This was worse because I could afford to gamble even more. Once you are putting £2-£300 on a horse it doesn't seem worthwhile trying to win £25 on a fruit machine so you progress to £1,000 jackpot machines or playing roulette at £10 a chip.
When gambling gets to you you just have to bet on something. You start betting on throwing coins nearest the wall, or betting whether the tenner in your pocket ends in an odd or even number, or what number the next bus that comes along will be. Then when you start running to the bookies just to have the last ten minutes playing roulette you know you are in trouble. And now they've bought those f**king section 16's out I would like to burn the arcades down.
Now I've got four credit cards maxed out and owe about £30,000.

Oh the life of a gambler.
