How do you tell what chip paycheque is on?

Hi all, only my second post but i have come accross a paycheque in a quiet place and just wondered if anyone knew how to tell what chip it was on? Any help much appreciated, also i have some info that i am more than willing to share on butch cassidy and the sundance quid. Cheers, Skillstop.

turn it on and off nad it will give you the software revision version..
leave at least 3 or 4 seconds before turning it on after its off or it could alarm
