Besides, pubs that have 2 or more machines, dont actually get to know that the Vortex is actually taking more than the DOND unless they actually ASK for the meter readings and THEN understand them (which they wont).

Do you actually have an ounce of understanding as to how a fruit machine's takings get documented?? now I can't comment for managers of big chain pubs but peoples who's actual business is the pub get full printed/written sheets of ingoings/outgoings/float shortfalls/rental charges/vat figures. It's all there in black & white. I know this because I've done several vat returns/accounts over the years for pubs/working mens clubs. So yes they do know what's what unless like I say the actual pub isn't theirs.

When I used to manage a bookies shop I used to have to take the meter readings myself daily, and do the week's accounts to work out exactly what profit had been made and by which machine. They then changed all that, and sent someone in to visit and take the meter readings, and based the machine swaps on comparative performance between the 2 sited machines aswell as managers' feedback.

Given that pub landlords are paying £774.75 per annum on licensing (if that's still what it costs) per machine they should be taking GREAT interest in machine performance/profit. I just think that their interest in the numbers is clouded by the whispers they keep hearing about notey-fraud, and therefore start to associate foul play with people who are playing with the best strategy and therefore seem to win often.

The problem for a local landlord is that there are people who play with optimum strategy (ie. Players) and then there are people who do not (ie. Munters). This isn't a player's fault; it's just an unfortunate knock-on effect.
This machine may at times offer a choice where the player has every chance of bankruptcy

You're assuming the muntling will always have necessary funds to cumulatively reach that 1k cycled.

The muntlings are going to need extra cash to get that turnover . This may be forthcoming, it may not. Machines by their nature are addictive, but times are hard for the average muntling.

The main gripe here is that pub staff don't understand machines. The £35 in £35 out repeat ad nauseum, you're barred being a classic example.

i can:

every count day gets an individual print out for all machines plus quiz machines PLUS PAYPHONE

total break downs, automatic meter readings and EVERY figure the machine can produce.

I work for Belhaven managed pubs in scotland which is owned by Greene King, we take our machines from Fair City Amusements which is scotlands biggest amusement suppliers, we have an accountant who works soley monitoring the puggy/pool table/jukebox takings, if there is a blip in the fortnightly collections it's noticed and dealt with in a matter of hours.

Proving, once again, why HiLo is great...
Sc for £35, Shoes for £105 then sc, again, for £35! £40ish in so ~£130ish profit...

Proving, once again, why HiLo is horrid...
Glowing, gambling to the moon and all out looking good. £50 in for £35 ugh! Recycled 5 times each one approximately taking more back. Now £120 down and the s.o.b. looks sweet. On £10, extra life, see the future and need blue for top. Higher than 3 dead. On a one, :( , bonus change number to ten grr then kills me again! After growing at least an inch of stubble it finally caves in and goes £70! Net loss £80ish.

i said to him no need to pretend to hit it mate how did you know that ... he said watched some bloke in the pub do it the other day i play em all the time now.

It is hard to keep it covered from prying eyes in all fairness, especially if you slot alone, same thing happened with deal wheel, barstaff, locals you name it they all got on those and made them not worth bothering with.

NO

NO

NO

NOOOOO

It is not hard at all.

Deal Wheel times out on the 10th revolution. So, you let it go around a few times and then start to fck about jumping between buttons like you cant make your mind up (I wait until I've almost got it before I get really into it and look like a total sad'o) and then cover two buttons with one hand and bang, I always pick the right one (its impossible to get two bankrupts).

You can also use the mirror of the wheel to check 180 degrees around you, looking for any unwanted attention to tackle accordingly.

Hilo - This is painful until top speed, but still no excuse (apart from I've had a couple I always lose on and on these I have been known to literally get a chair and make it as obvious as possible to try and get the sodding unit took out), but once its there, wait until the 6 1/2 repeitive flash on the LED display and hit any button other than start (I cant remember what it actually says off hand) and just as you press it, you will be rolling the red bar onto the line. Ive had people stand right next to me and not realise it has timed out onto it.

C'mon people... Professionals... theres no excuses for this, its basic, basic PR.

:(
Bollocks to all you idiots!

Your second scenario is what so often happens to me!

Though lately, I have been doing a lot better on these. Have no clue why I'm getting these changes of fortune on them recently. I guarantee one thing, the bad luck will return. Either a lot up or a lot down, never in between with these.

Lol.
If there's two of us my pal covers the cash value past the join and you've gotta at least style it out. I've now started experiencing bar staff tell me how to do it! <#@$**>
Does anyone know if it slides when trapped early??

I know what your saying Mark, i know when the reel is gonna stop and its a fair point you've made, i rarely go out alone so its not a problem to stand in the way with 2 of you, i bet theres a few people that have put what your saying into practice when being watched.

Used to have an old dear from behind the bar watching us on a deal wheel, theres only so many times you can faff around pretending to be undecided waiting for it to give a red box every 30 seconds though.

Only recently started getting 'shafted' on these. Until know i had quite a few on routes where 'nobody(?)' was going. The worst cases have been in place where i've returned 4days after a £105 top fully knowing that a 'rival' has been in since and learnt the true meaning of recyling jps lol.... only to get blasted myself. Yet if they want to test my route i'll happily burn it for all and sundry. On a silly random note i've had great fun with one unit. Started slotting with £2 coins so unit is always seriously down. Why?? Because two 'f'ing muppets have L$F refills and brandinsh them like Boris Karloff!!!
