Gamebox hopper paying out but then saying IOU

Just bought a gamebox machine and put 10 £ coins in to test payouts so won £1, pressed collect and it payed out but bank still said £1 and a blue line came across the top saying IOU £1 call attendant. Anybody any ideas wots wrong. Cheers, Dan

Sounds like a dodgy hopper opto (the "eye" that sees the coin being paid out).
Does it register coins paid out in test?
