Fruit Machine Chat

I have recently bought this machine,and even though the percentage key is at 78%,the actual payout rate since Ive had the machine is 108%!!!

Is it likely the %key may be knackered and need replacing or can I reset the machine another way?

How long have you had the machine?

It could be a blip but it's a high blip!

Why don't they do this in the wild

Ive had it for a week or so,It was playing ok but one day the alarm sounded when I turned it on and said error 8.3 (change of % payout)
Im wondering if its the %key needs replacing? Or any other ideas of what it could be?

I too wish we could find some 109% payouts out and about!!

Also try this.Check the battery voltage on the processor board.If its low or flat it will be causing a ram reset which loses all machines settings when you switch it off,That in turn when you switch it back on makes the machine perform as a new machine with new settings thus giving you the alarm and % changed alert.
It will also make the machine run at a high % as it is starting its % build up from scratch everytime you turn it on,If this is the fault then just replace the battery.Check also for battery damage (leaking from the old battery) is this will cause serious problems,More so if the battery is blue in colour,It should be green.

How can I check the voltage on the processor board please?
The battery is red (I take it its the battery!) with light indicators on it.
It doesnt seem to be leaking. I cant understand it as it has been fine the last week.

The battery should be blue or green in colour not red,and no lights on it as it's only about just approx over an inch long and half inch wide and soldered to the board by three pins two at on side and one at the other, it will show the voltage on it(2.4v 100mAh or 3.6v 150 mAh) along with the manufactures name.To test it with the machine switched off you will need a multi meter.

Ok right,not easy to do without the correct tool! is there a chance the % key being knackered or is that unlikely?

Very unusual for a % key to fail as they are just wire links in a plug and no components.If it's not connected or set outside the machines software parameters then you would get an alarm stating that the % key was missing or invalid.
If you can get another key to try suppose that would eliminate it.
Either way still get that battery checked as battery failure and leaking acid onto the board contributes a high % of all the older machines breakdowns.

Ive changed the battery aswell as the percentage key.Played for a few days to see if the payouts would settle down but no such luck,anyone have any ideas of what could be going on please?

Not much help, but i have a Global Treasure Hunt with a persistantly low payout %. I have tried new % key, different % setings, RAM clear, battery and software update, with no success. So all I can think off is a board fault where it always gets the maths wrong.
