Hi guys.
I own a Homers Meltdown machine which was working perfectly untill last night.
When i power up the machine it seems to boot ok but for some reason the sound has stopped working. I have checked the sound volume and it is still set fine.
Does anyone have any ideas?
Thanks guys

Maybe a loose connection on your speaker?

Hi,
You need to check some other issues out before you go straight for the sound chip. I know you have checked the connections but also try a new speaker in case it is that.

Hi there.
The speaker was one of the first things that i checked and it is also working fine.
This has really got me as everything that i seem to be checking is working fine. All LED's are lit on the internal boards.
Is there anything else that i could be missing?
Thanks for your help guys.

Hi,
I had this exact problem on Barcrest machine and it turned out to be the amplifier on the main MPU (board) and not the sound chips. However, Maygay machines are different and I would need to check one out to remember how they work. There is a company on Ebay who I called when mine had a problem and they seemed to be more familiar with Maygay machines than any others. I'll see if I can find the number for you. Don't but anything until you speak to them.
Cheers,

Hi,
the Ebay seller who I was talking about is vectra159. Mail him and ask him to call. The shop is called SE Leisure. Contact Andy. Keep me posted.

Hi, as mentioned in a earlier post the problem could be the eproms or maybe even the MPU itself. I've known the Yamaha (U5,U7) ic's fail on the MPU before causing this type of fault.
I think i've a couple of Homers Meltdown sound eproms somewhere i'll have a look round for you, i would want much for them. I can also supply a MPU for £18 delivered if thats whats needed.
i'll get back to you on the eproms
cheers
