barcrest mpu5 HotShots error

Hi,

Dunno if any of you guys can help?

My mate has a barcrest mpu5 hotshots fruity but it has started to show "ALARM 01"...

He has tried a new mobo and a different hopper but still no joy, any ideas on what it could be?

Hi there mate. MPU5 fault codes start from 11 so if yours is 01 then it is a BACTA code but i would expect it to read 1.X (X=1,2,3,4 ect) this relates to the test numbers so 1 is cash handling, coins in, coins out & note validator. best ignoring the LCD messages anyway, better to read the number of flashes the status light gives during the fault and relating that to the fault code list, gives much more detail.

oh yeh probably telling you to suck eggs here but with all cash handling alarms, clean the hopper optos. that clears about 80% of those alarms unless it has an NV9 Note validator...............but thats another kettle of fish
