Coin mech cleaning

Have a club Pharaohs Gold and get the feeling that I need to 'clean' the coin mech as it is starting to reject coins and it seems to be taking an age to decide whether to accept or reject coins; I have read similar topics about pulling a flap back and cleaning inside. I think I have identified this (is this the flap that is forced open by pushing the coin reject button ??) or am I in the wrong place ?!?
Any help would be appreciated.

Yes, that's where the coins pass through, if it's dirty, it will reject them

A little glass cleaner on the insied of the flap as you call it is one of the best ways..

the best way to clean a mech is to turn the power off un plug it then pull flap open and use furnisher polish on it (a little) with a cloth

TBH i would just use a damp cloth as recommended by the manu's

Also remove the sigle screw from the side plate and clean there.

15 years ago, I worked at the central pier at blackpooln mending the fruities. the coin mechs at that time had to be occaisionally "educated"
There are some variable chokes and resistors in the older mechs and a couple of pins in the newer ones to be shorted for teaching the mechs.
In effect the ones I used then had a combination of shorting pins for each type of coin, then the mech was filled with coins of one denomination to give the machine any possible variation of one particulair coin.
Look at tha make of the mech and get in touch with them for a data sheet. good luck!
