Hey
I just collected this vintage Maygay fruit machine.
I plugged it all in and all the lights work but when I insert some coins the machine does not register the coin therefore not being able to enjoy this great game.

I have started to clean it all out as well as checking all the connections and coin mechanism but was wandering if anyone on here had any ideas about this.

This is my first machine that I'm looking to do up and get back into action so any other tops and advice please do share with me.

Can send photos if required.

Someone who lived near me was getting rid of it as it had been sat in her garage for ages

Have you tried a variety of coins? Are any coins making it to the cashbox / hopper? That is a very old game; and the coin mech looks like the funny european variety. Maybe not original, but surely at some point it has worked. If that coin mech has been sutting unused for ~20 years, it's no surprise it no longer accepts coins. That variety of mech is abundant, and you can probably grab one off Ebay for a few quid.

Yes I'm currently looking at the coin mech as I can see that being a problem. It does however take the old style coins like the old 50p etc.

I have a photo of the coin mech if that helps but I'm struggling to put the pic up on here

I used to own this machine when I was about 10. I remember my uncle winning the jackpot and it only paying £8 out. The jackpot can hold on this too on the feature.

i reckon the clicking noise will be coming from the payout solonoids...

machine is not setting up, will be mutliple issues...##difficult to advise on such an old machine..
