Thunderbirds Club Machine - Error 01 44 on start up

Post by Skyblue_CremeEgg »

Hi, new here so hello everyone.

Just bought and received a Thunderbirds Club Fruit Machine manufactured in 2001.

On start up I receive a loud warning noise and an error message of 01 44. This means "Non Payout 100p Cash". The person I bought the machine from states it's an error because a win (before I had received it) hadn't been paid out. So I inserted a few £1 coins using the refill key, turned on again but still no luck, the machine doesn't try to pay out with any coins in the hopper?

Does anyone have any ideas how to solve?

BTW, inserting £1 coins via the mech go straight down to the bottom and not into the hopper - could be another unrelated issue but haven't got that far yet to check............

Update............disconnecting the hopper allows me to access the service menu's and the machine starts up normally.............so the issue is related to the hopper..........

Trying to complete a hopper dump without it connected produces the same 01 44 error.........

Does anyone have any idea's?

it's an old compact hopper...

could something as simple as a dirty or blocked opto.

put a coin in the hopper and manually spin it to see if the coin comes out, this would rule ouyt a blockage.
the next step would be to take the hoppper apart and clean the opto...

another possibility ( seeing as you have never seen the machine working) is that it is the wrong type of hopper for this machine.

there were many variations of that type hopper.....

Thanks for the info.

The person I bought from said it was fully working so think the hoppers the correct one. Coins spin manually in the hopper and eject out so not blocked and have checked the connections. I'm being sent a replacement hopper so hopefully that will sort it but if anyone else has anymore info that may help it would be much appreciated.

Yes, and now I can't seem to find the stakes key to change the jackpot level etc....should there be a 9 pin D connector somewhere?

Btw, I've tried everything to get the hopper going, resetting the float, resetting RAM etc.....

One thing I would like to try is to reset the stakes as this might reset the hopper maybe???

it might not use a stake/prize key...

sometimes on club machines, the dil switches are used...

i would wait for the replacement hopper, if that doesnt work , then its time to start worrying..
