Maygay. Inferno help needed

Hi all this is my first time on here and I hope someone can help me I just got hold of a maygay inferno machine for only £5 it's a non runner , Anyway I plugged it in and all I got was a few lights on the front flash nothing else so I took the mainbourd out as I have heard that the battery leaks it did not look that bad but I cleaned it with vinegar rinsed if off then cleaned it with alcohol.
Refitted it and I got life well a bit it started to power up but no lights came on and I have a error code saying 2.1 reel 1fault. The reels did spin up on boot up and also a load alarm sound from the speaker any help would be great as I would like to get the old machine in working order.
