Hi guys, with the introduction of the new 5p and 10p this month being made although not a design change but being made from less copper and nickle, until I'll get to try them in my oldish fruity, will my coin mech take the new coins???. My mech is a SR5 old I know, so would it detect the changes in the coins, am I right in saying that the mech goes on the size and weight and conductivity of said coins that are inserted. Also do the most modern coin mechs work more or less the same way?.

you will need to have your mechs re-programmed to take the new coins ,they won't detect the changes and adjust accordingly
