Not a lot to choose from really. Either you've moved your e-proms into a duff board with what is supposed to be a good battery, or you have damaged the sound e-prom ~ very easy to do ~ are you 100% sure that all of the legs went fully into their slot and did not crumple or fold on themselveves and did you fit them round the right way?
If you're sure the proms are still good, why not put them back into your board and move the battery instead, with some skillful soldering?
