Hi, Currently caribbean cash machine keeps issuing Pay Unit Err 17, I have had the hopper out cleaned it, checked for any jams but still it keeps issuing the error, the machine only works if foor is open for it to go into free mode, also the machine wont let me put it into test mode.


Any help is appreciate.

Error code definately relates to the hopper payout, but you appear to have tried all the obvious. However, if the opto or the motor are actually faulty, then what you've done will not cure the fault.
I would suggest swapping the hopper bed for a known good unit, to eliminate both of these at once.

I suggest binning the shit.

Just as reelman states,if possible replace bed or even better full unit,but I'd also be checking wiring to the rear,one of ours had identical error code a while ago,and 1 of 2 wires attending were damaged,easy fix.
