Variable Percentage & S&J Keys

Post by Pete2010 »

Hi peeps,

Just bought these & not sure if they are compatible or not.

I have plugged them both in, but they don't seem to do alot.

The percentage key doesn't seem to have any effect, but doesn't alarm either.

The Stake & Jackpot key alarms whatever I set it at, even the same as the original S&J.

Machine is a Barcrest Ooh Aah Dracula MPU5.

Some say it might be fixed & non-changable in the prom.

Anyone know for sure?

Many thanks,

Pete

Hi all,

It's ok now.

Both give a list of switch settings, but only SOME of them work.

I tried about 6 & none of those 6 worked.

It's very select about what you can pick for S&P settings.

So, no need for any help on this one now.

Thanks,

Pete

Well, there is one thing :)

Since changing the Stake & Prize setting, it seems to have stopped paying out £1 coins.

If I empty all hoppers, put in say £10 of £1 coins, then £3 of 20p's, it will only pay out the 20p's.
Even when it has run out of 20p's, it thinks it is paying them out, but no coins arrive in cash tray as the hopper is empy, but it doesn't try to pay the rest in £1 coins, which are sitting in the £1 hopper.

The only way I can get the £1 coins out is via the test switch to dump the hoppers.

Machine was originally 20p Play & £15 Jackpot, but is now set to 20p Play & £8 Jackpot.

One other thing............
Manual says I should be able to set it as 5p Play & £5 Jackpot, but it alarms with Invalid Jackpoy Key error.
I think this is because there are payouts up to £8, so won't set the Jackpot below this, as the Jackpot should be the highest payout on the machine.
Someone please correct me if I am wrong.

Anyone have any thoughts or ideas please.

Just for reference, machine is a Barcrest MPU5 Ooh Aah Dracula machine.

Many thanks,

Pete

so its a twin hopper machine obviously, and do you have the right manual for it? do you have a stake and prize key and a seperate percentage key for it?

the travelling fairs used to and still do make their machines pay out only 20ps, to make you put them back in. and i find it strange that even though the 20p hopper is empty that it still trys to pay them out?? surely it should just IOU?

there should be a +1% dip switch, this is possibly what is affecting the alarms?

Yes, I have the Genesis/MPU5 Manual, which I have been told is the right manual.
I also have a variable percentage key, & a seperate variable Stake/Prize key.

Well, that is what I thought, & what I read in the manual, so maybe there is another DIL switch setting I need to do somewhere.

I also have the Field Service Manual which gives some info too.
I'll take another look at that.

Yes, there is a +1% switch, but I thought that was just for the Percentage setting.
It only gives me the alarm for the Stake & Prize key.

The manual says..........
Options when available are:-
5p £5
10p £5
20p £5
25p £5
30p £5
10p £10
20p £10
25p £10
20p £15
25p £15
30p £15

Well, I don't seem to be able to set it to £5 Jackpot at all, no matter what Stake I set it to.
Same with the £4, £6, & £8 Jackpots, except for 20p & £8.

No Jackpot setting above £15 works either.
Maybe that is in the software, I'm not sure.

Here is the Stake/Prize Key settings sticker.......

Here are the variable keys I have bought........

The Percentage Key does not alarm & seems as if it is working.
Not sure if the +1% DIL switch will have much effect, but I current have it set at 70%.

Many thanks for your help guys.
