and after about 5 secs it sorts ifself out and starts the machine as normal.
when trying to put coins in to play they drop straight through to the payout erea and is same for all coins(not take any) iv put the machine in test mode but still not take any coins iv tryed dumping the hopper with the green swith at the bottom but nothing the hooper not spin at all as tryed putting £20 in the hopper manully and it not spin
but everything else is fine and plays good in demo mode just carnt try it with doors shut as it not take any coins?
anyone with any idears plz?
if anyone needs any pics just ask and will upload some of it
thankyou all

it sounds like your hopper is not connected to any power, check that the power lead at the back of the hopper is connected.

Is this the one with the Eclipse board in your machine by any chance?
If so What messages do you see on boot up? (are there lots of '???')
as it sound like the cctalk line is down - it could be any component on it i.e. coin mech, hopper, or note acceptor (if one goes down it can kill the whole lot - especially the note acceptor)
Or it could just be a hopper jammed (but that shouldn't stop it taking coins in test)
Oh and IIRC there was a software and hardware update for cctalk problems on them as well, a big cap was fitted to compensate for low mains voltage at boot up and software was updated as they were using old cctalk SDK libraries - but I've said to much already ;-)

OK from your last pic you have got the big cap fitted (from the wires that I can see - leading to a big cap under the hopper shelf)
BUT "coin mech???? hopper???? and bnv????" means it can not find coin mech, hopper or note acceptor (BNV is note acceptor),
so the cctalk line if defo fu**ed,
You could try unplugging everything mentioned above, then connect one by one and take note of the boot up messages to determine what is causing it to take out the cctalk comms line
BUT from your last pic I'm pretty sure that the connector is in the wrong socket - (the one outlined by yellow circle)
I'm sure it should be in the socket below it - give it a go - it won't do any harm even if I'm wrong (obviously do this when it's turned off and compare the boot up messagesand go into test etc...)
- one socket is for cctalk and the other is for MEI Hii BUT getting them wrong will not 'blow up' anything so don't worry.

just whipped the cover off of a fubar'ed eclipse I have knocking around, it is definately the bottom one of the two for CCtalk, so moving the plug should resolve your issues

Ahh glad you can confirm that cheers, (wasn't 100% sure as don't have machine at the mo')
So that should fix his problem if the OP ever comes back

no problem, it's all printed on the pcb, just can't be seen easily with the case on.
gotta say though, those eclipse boards were rubbish, prob main reason inspired sold maygay brands to igt, they lost a fortune on that useless technology!!

When you stripped the hopper down before did you make sure you plugged the correct connector in to it - as the will be a spare one that you mentioned before
Or you could try the other connector and recheck
