Fruit Machine Chat

Ive just picked up a Homers Meltdown MayGay machine and im new to the whole scene and seem to be having some problems and not sure if this is down to my ignorance or the machine..
My apologies if its just me being stupid but any help greatly appreciated as the manual is way to technical for me.
Does the Hopper need filling completetly to work? ive put about 10x £1 coins in it but the test button just makes a honk noise and £1 coins paid into go straight to the bin at the bottom rather than the hopper? is this correct?
Also on a second note i want to change it from 10p play £5 jackpot to 20p play £15 jackpot? is this possible?
It came with two chips (Keys??) which apparently do this, do i just plug them into the empty spaces inside or replace whats there?
Im scared to touch to much without advice incase i do more damage..

the button you are pressing is your 'top-up button' this should only be pressed when you are filling the hopper. usualy £125 coins if note accepter not fitted.

what you need to do to resolve this is either put £125coin in or set the machine to the float you have in it.

you can do this by dumping the hopper..

insert and turn your refill key
press the dump button. (situated near the cashboxes at the bottom)
then press start (possible cancel/collect depending on machine)

coins should now start to payout into the tray untill empty.

now turn your refill key again so you go out of the refill mode. then turn again to re-access it. insert your pound coins into the coin mech and the machine will count them and set your float level to that amount

now when you insert a coin in normal game mode it should route into the hopper. aslong as you dont press the top up button again

as for the stake/prize key. aslong as it says on it what you want. for example 25p £15, simply plug it in and it will change the stake and prize. you will need to change the decal (artwork) but it just slides in and out. easy

Ive ran through the tests and the hopper seems to be working well, i have a key that opens the machine but doesnt fit into the small keyhole by a red flashing light on the front left, is this the refill key? if so where does it fit?
Thanks for your reply, once ive sorted the hopper float which i will need to reset then it should be fine but im not sure ive got the refill key.

refill key is a flat double sided key, bit like a locker key, and will have 87000 on one side, and almost certainley Lowe and Fletcher on the other side.

there is thousands out there, don't pay too much or get duped on e-bay by people selling "engineers-secret-key-to-tell-you-when-it's-gonna-pay"

second hand dealers will have them, JNC-Sales , AMR Amusements, bigger dealers like RLMS sales prob won't deal with private individuals, as they are linked to nationwide operators, but the smaller independants don't really care who's paying them!

you don't actually need the key it's self. just short out the wires on the back of the lock
