Sounds like a dirty opto on the hopper bed.

Strip down the hopper and clean.

Best wishes
Stu.

the pcb in the hopper was loose and now no alarm. thanks for that.

now another problem

the coin mechanism wont take any coins as they all come right back out.
i found a multiplug on it that was out but when reconnected it still has the same fault.

it looks like a trip to buy another fruity is on the cards unless any of you kind people have any ideas.
thanks so much nick

On the multiplug that goes into the coin mech - check for loose or broken connections.
Sounds like the coin mech is no longer receiving power.

i got the mech to take coins now but it recognises a 1pound as a 10p and any other coin sets an alarm saying coin not recognised

i unplugged a white multiplug on the coin mech but that set off an alarm and said strim and counted down from 25 to zeroa

:)
Well I have to admit I had to edit my post above as I had put hopper too! But we both knew what we meant even if brain engagement was lacking.

So the mech is getting power - sounds like it's knackered then to be honest.
You could try giving it a clean inside, but otherwise not a lot to do but try another mech.
:(

there is a machine on ebay that is less than a mile away from me and buy it now.
its another barcrest mpu5 and its pretty cheap and the man said i can play on it as long as i want till satisfied so i may get that one and just swap over the coin mechs to see if this one is knackered.

Always good to have spares and the mpu5 stuff is so cheap now its worth a punt if you have the space.

At the worst aaa or myself can supply mechs, aaa im sure will be cheaper than me too.

( remember the plan aaa, i want a % of sales, lol )

went to see the fruity and it buzzed very loudly from the psu so left it well alone.

got a casino crazy £25jp.
stake either 10p 20p or 30p upto 5 win lines.

from the local free ads for £40 so well pleased and everything works perfectly. been playing it for a few hrs and put over £200 through it with no problems.

just the fix the dosh and pecks now.

Psu buzz on a mpu5 is fine buddy, most do when the lights go into attract, just the epoch rubbish to avoid.

Glad you got a machine though. have you swapped the mechs yet?
