Assume you mean "dumped" and not "duped" ?
How many £1 coins were dumped ? Could it be that the hopper is actually full, hence why they are diverting to the buckets below ?

Look on the wiring harness next to the coin mech...as the routing plugs are normaly fitted over the harness so they dont get lost. Your machine should have 2 ruting plugs 1 marked MARS and the other marked COIN CONTROLS look at th make of your coin mech and use the plug with the same name on it.....hope this helps

Are you not able to swap the mech with a known good one from your other 5 machiones to test this theory?
Your other machines are probably fitted with a cashflow mech, which is far superior in my opinion and the most commonly fitted, for good reason.
Is there another plug on your loom to enable the fittment of the Mars mech ?
Just a very quick thought, could this routing plug, assuming it's supposed to have one, have fallen out and dropped to the bottom of the cabinet in transit or something ?

It is nice when people make the time to respond and let you know that your advice has helped them to sort out their machine ~ thanks. It makes it all worth while.
Bearing in mind that this router you've used may be wired slightly differently to how it should be, I would check that it not only diverts the £1 coins away from the hopper and to the coin boxes, once the hopper is full, as well as diverting them to the hopper when it is not full.
It doesn't really matter if all of the other coins go in the left box instead of the right, or vice versa, so long as none of them get diverted into the hopper and jam it up.
Looks like you're sorted though.
Have fun

That was damn lucky if it was just a random routing plug!
Good stuff.
