epoch.. :(

trhere the worst machines of all to work on m8.

could be anything wrong in it...

rather that having one mpu it has a few little boards connected by ribbon cables..

i fear the worst for that machine if you don't have access to working parts...

you have a problem with the hopper then ...

firstly, make sure the payout connector is fitted correctly into the mpu5.

if you pull the gamecard off, you will see a guide telling your which plug goes where, make sure the hopper payout plug is inserted correctly, if i remember rightly it is possible to jam the plug between the board and pins.

secondly, make sure the hopper tray is connected . it will be possible to remove the hopper tray for refilling/ servicing etc.
make sure the hopper tray is in correctly and connected up.

i am not familier with the hopper setup on this machine, could you take a photo of hopper area nad post it?

hi mate just bought another machine £60 it's quite old club title shot by maygay boxing theme! also runs on an epoch system would you know if that would be same boards thats used in my global dungeons one looks the same if so I should be able to swap boards round to see which ones not working then I can buy the right part. have you heard of this machine any good what you reckon? :)

i remember the machine...

yes you can swop the parts about.. :
just remember if you are swopping the cpu board that you need to swop the program and sound IC's over...

if i were you, i would steer clear of epoch machines and look for bellfruit/barcrest machines.
you want either a scorp 4/5 brellfruit or mpu5 barcrest.

tbh there the easiest to maintain.. :)

hi buzzer I've taken old board out am bout 2 swop prog&soundchips over theres like 16 little pins either side of chip seems really fiddly to line them up do they all need to go in perfectly as when I tried a couple kinda bent have straightened them but thought i'd better check before I damage them and end up breaking both machines lol don't worry will def go down mpu5 board route in future!!! also the title shot machine I just bought had it set on demo by opening bottom door (as I don't use coins just play for fun) but when I put it on this morning it's gone back to normal and cant get back to demo mode any idea tried opening doors&holding down diff buttons so annoying lol sorry mate must b doin your head in!! :(

yes, the eeproms can be a right pain to change over, they use two types of IC base , if you have the one with the round connectors, god help you lol.

the machine that is not going into demo, does the machine think the doors are open or closed?

what is on the alpha display?

nah not round type thankfully they're thin pin like connecters the chip itself is rectangle shape!! gonna b a nitemare to line them up so all 16pins fit in on all 4 chips!!! the other machine says doors open/closed correctly when they are open/closed also wen I put pound coin in it goes straight in hopper not at the bottom so I can re-use without having to dump hopper each time which is a pain any way I can bypass hopper so at least I can just keep putting pound in&takin it out bottom to use again? but still prefer demo mode?

if you open the door, turn refil key and press hopper top up switch, the machine will thinks its full and put coins in cashbox.

alternativly if the mech has a routing plug in it, if you remove it it will put all coins in cashbox.. :)

tried turning refill key pressed hopper re-float button (no hopper top up button) (which is next to test switch) alpha display says hoppers floated but money still goes in hoppers so need to find routing plug!! by the way given up on epoch thing don't see how any one can get those 16 pins lined up perfectly without them bending so gonna chuck my fav machine (gutted) buy one with mpu5 tech lol
