Showtime Spectacular Payout Problem

Post by Mick_Smith99 »

Hi

I've recently purchased my first fruit machine (Show time Spectacular) from eBay. Having got the machine home and played it I've noticed that if I have 10.20 in the bank and try to collect it, the solenoids on the tubes dont activate, I just get a buzzer sound from the speaker and the bank decreases but the machine doesnt actually pay out.

When I put the machine into test mode and do a coin test, the pound coin tube will empty but again the 20p tube wont, it just buzzes again.

Here's a bit of background info:
Only 2 tubes on the machine £1 and 20p, set to cash only - the 2 token tubes are disconnected I presume as they are not needed. I've swapped the spede terminals to a different solenoid to ensure that its not a faulty or jammed solenoid but still the same noise. Its an old Bell Fuits machine running Scorpion II (I think)

I have read that the tubes must be past the first sensor but the £1 tube isnt and I wouldnt have thought this would have mattered anyway in test mode.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Kindest Regards

Is this the bell friut machine showtime spec with the voice of 'roy castle the irish bloke' what a nightmare machine as it uses your right the every breaking scorpion2 board.

ok you need to do a switch test first and press the tube sensor and you sould hear a click noise from the speaker and if i remember a aux display of the switch number.

Do this first then let me know and i will be able to tell you what the problem is (ie if you hear a noise or not) dont worry its easy to fix and wont cost you anything

Strobe 4 Data 1 is the lower Switch and Strobe 7 Data 1 is the upper.

The buzzer noise is more of a digital boing rather than a mechanical buzzer, it comes from the speaker rather than the solenoid.

Ive now topped up coins past the lower switches but still no joy.

Even if I win £2 its trying to pay me out in 20p's rather than 2 x £1 coins

So frustrating, please help if you can

Many Thanks

change the sensor on the pound tube with one of the token sensors or you can first move the pound sensor up over the tube so that its not in the hole on the tube. try that first

Ok, I've added another 20 quids worth of pound coins and now it happily pays out the whole pounds from the bank. It would appear that there just wasnt enough pound coins.

Still though, 20p just wont pay out, it just makes a kinda springy low pitched "Boing" noise instead (and in test mode too)

I wish I had a manual for this machine to refer to.

Cheers

Is there a test I can do with a multimeter to make sure the solenoid is working ?

I've sorted it now, one of the grey/yellow wires was slightly pulled out of the machine end of the connector cable and although wasnt obviously loose, wasnt quite making the connection.

All sorted out
