GREAT ESCAPE stuck cash float/refill

Post by ac999 »

Was given the machine a few weeks ago as a present...

few broken bulbs but soon fixed... working a ok until now...

i tend to play 5/10 quid of credits each time i turn the machine on... using pounds out of the bin which collecxs the pounds in the bottom...

i only have one key for it which opens the lower door... access to the money bins and the same key opens the upper cab...

i do have a refill somewhere but never used it on this machine... it gives me the feeling its stuck in a refill mode ?????

any thoughts anyone?

i've cycled the power but cant do much else...

please help

93 pounds short

Post by Shakey »

If the hopper is showing short do the following

Dump the hopper in test mode

then put all the coins back into the hopper and dump again (this will allow the machine to count how much is in the hopper) then put the coins back in the hopper and close the doors and it will fill to the max and after its full the coins will fall to the bottom of the machine (cash box)

Do not refill from the coin mech using the refill key as this will only give the machine a false read.

shakey,

firstly thanks for the reply mate...

didn’t have many replies for days, so didn’t check the site until this morning... thus haven’t had chance to do this...

please bare in mind i'm a newbie regarding owning a fruit machine/inner workings etc....

just to add a little detail to my post....

i haven't used a refill key on the machine at all since getting it a month ago... i do have one somewhere but cant find it...

i cant remember the exact sequence of events (which i know doesn’t help matters) however I tend to play the machine like this;

open lower door, take £5 or £10 out of the £ coin box, close door, power up the machine, play as normal, turn off power.... i sometimes open the door again for another £5 or £10 whilst the power is still on...

The hopper is NOT full; don’t really want over £100 in the machine, it’s more useful in my pocket: D

When i started getting the problems i did disconnect the hopper and empty it out (had about £40 ish in there) i put the coins back in and reconnected but that didn’t solve anything...

I have pressed the GREEN refill button (in the lower part of the machine i think) at some stage, however i cant remember what affect that had, if any...

As for the message... I'm at work at the moment so don’t know the exact message, but it DOESNT say ERROR anywhere.... just something like

REFILL (something) 0.00

Do you have to play the machine with a full hopper? I played it for a couple of weeks on no more than £30 in there..

Test Mode? Will I need to find my refill key out to get into this?
I have the machine manual, which i remember does outline a TEST MODE however I couldn't get it to work... hold a small button down for 2/5 seconds on the MPU???

I'll update some more info when i get home tonight

thanks again

You probably pressed the hopper top up switch which made the machine think its got £125 in it, when it only had £32 leaving it thinking its £93 short somewhere

Still not having any luck here guys...

any thoughts?

I've 'dumped' the hopper a few times and got it saying the hopper is £125 PND OFF....

at the moment its powered on, all doors closed and it just says;

PND REFILL 0.00

any ideas would be great.... remember i'm new at this so please, full directions, e.g. power up, open lower door, etc, etc

btw the i cant seem to get the mahine in test mode... any thoughts?...
i'm pressing what i think is the right 'red' button but nothing.. no bleep etc

If PND REFILL 0.00 is the message in the display with all the doors closed then your first theory could be correct.sounds to me like its in refill mode.
It could be the refill switch has shorted or collapsed.
Open the top door and look at the back of the refill switch(the lock your refill key fits in),it should have 2 wires connected to it.
Remove one of the wires from the back of the lock, close the door and see if the message has gone and the machine ready for play.

thanks machine doctor

some how i've fixed it!

powered up, all doors closed, display said PND REFILL 0.00... popped a tenner or so in... then powered off and back on... same message... i then got called waway for 10 minutes... when i got back it was just sitting there... ready

played £40 worth of credits and all seemed welll...

however i will checked out those wires tomorrow just in case...

thanks to all who posted

seems i was a little bit too quick in saying all was well!

turned the machine back on over the weekend, got the refill error again... left it for 20 minutes or so... still displayed the error! :x

looked for the refill key connection inside the lower cab to find it disconnected... re connected it but still nothing.....

any ideas?
