OK, I have had a play and I am really getting nowhere.buzzer wrote:what you have is a jpm "impact" technology machine
refil key won't be a problem, its a standard key, can be had off ebay for a few quid. ( key number is 8700)
looks like this...
for the sound i would check the simple stuff first.
make sure the speaker is connected (people have a habit of disconnecting them , as the alarm sounds are very annoying)
go into test and make sure the volume is turned up, it can also be done through refil mode, but you have no key yet.
check the speaker works
general overview of the hardware:
the square box is the power supply unit, does exactly that, as the machine is setting up, we can assume its ok..
the mpu (computer) consists of 4 units, one large pcb with 3 smaller pcbs slotted in. (if you remove any of these, take note of which slot they come out of, that way you can put them back in correct slot.
it is situated under the large metal protective cover.
1: the large board is the main I/O board, most hardware in the machine is connected to it.. lamps, mech, hopper, buttons, reels etc etc
you should notice a large red button on it,the button is located under the round hole on the protective cover, this allows you to access the button without removing the cover.
this button puts the machine on test when the back door switch is in the open position
three boards slotted into the main board are:
a: program board; this contains the eeproms that hold the machine program
b: sound board; this has the hardware for the machine sounds, i think it may hold a sound prom and maybe the speakers wires connect here, but i'm not entirely sure (haven't seen one for a while and i forget alot)
3: processor board; this board has the main processor on it and the battery which holds the machines memory.
best to have a look at the battery, there are famous for leaking and the acid can damage the board, this is very bad as the technology is obsolete, the parts are as rare as rocking horse shit.
i have heard of folk mounting the battery on its own board and connecting by wires, might be worth looking at...
hope that gives you an idea of what you have..
PS, if you are removing the board cover, make sure the machine is unplugged, its easy to touch against one of the boards and cause damage....
