hi all please help my card shark machine was working fine till today when I turned it on it now says TOPPED UP on the display & makes a beep noise so cant play it in demo mode ie: with doors open BUT when I close door it seems ok 2 play with coins but I need it 2 work in demo mode any idea whats causing this & how I can fix please

tried putting in refill key 2 try & access menu but just keeps saying topped up & bleeping

your hopper top up switch is jammed on..

(cant miss it theres a big yellow sticker beside it

)

possibly your refil switrch too

disconnect both see if it goes away

will give that a go buzzer know where hopper top up button is pressed it! will now try & disconnect it not 100% sure where refill switch is but will look later cheers

hi buzzer finally got round to havin a look at machine have now bought it in from the cold damp garage which has helped. problem I have now the volumes too high trying to workout how to access the volume menu so I can turn down I thought it was accessed through the refill key like my other machine but don't seem to be any idea? have disconnected the speaker so its silent but b nice to have a bit of volume

if you tun the refil key with the doors open, you should be able to access volume control.
or if you put the machine into test mode.

you will see the test switch next to the mpu (there is a big sticker pointing it out), but there may well be a secret switch down behind the reels, u will need to hold this in while pressing the test switch.

top door has to be open and press cancel once so that its not displaying "read meters"

hi buzzer finally got round 2 havin a proper look, def cant access volume control either with door open or through test mode.

so listed exactly what it shows hope this makes sense :so with door open turn refill key, VTP L 30 appears on screen? cancel all 3 hold buttons exchange & start buttons all flashing if u press cancel it says clearing meters 1st hold says short term meters, 2nd hold is long term meters 3rd hold is alarm log exchange scrolls down start scrolls up this menu: percent ,target, games played,5p in, 10p in, 20p in, 50p in, pound in, £2 in, pound out, cash out, cash in, cash ref, hand pay, cash bet, no change, long term meters, short term meters, alarm log.

when I accessed test mode on test 7 datapack it said fail? on audio test it said channel 1 channel 2 both. no option to turn volume up & down which thinking bout it I've def turned volume down before by simply turning refill key whilst door open scrolling down to volume & turning it down!!! hope this makes sense so annoying as mrs having a go coz it's too loud to have on in house!! cheers andy

right sound like you are accessing long term meters.

1: switch machine on
2: open top door only ( on some club machines opening bottom door puts machine into collector mode)

now look at machine once its set up does the4 display say door open? or read meter?

if it says door open, then turn reifl key and look through the menu options. u will need to play around a bit cause i cant remembrt rxactly how to step through the menus, but you will mainly use the 3 buttons on right, start and the two next.

if it says read meters or vtp or anything like that, then you are in collector mode, press the cancel button and hopefully you should get the door open message on display.
if so turn refil key and look through the menus as mentioned above.

alternativly it might be possible to adjust the volume by turning refil key during demostration mode. (playing free credits with door open)

u can get into demo mode in two ways

1: pressing the start button whislt you have the door open message on display
2: pressing the test button

on some machine pressing the test button twice will put it into demo mode...

a few things to try, but me memory ain't too good and i havn't touched a barcrest club machine for many a year now..

hi buzzer tried what u said but unfortunately not worked when turn machine on with top door open it says genesis then alternates between door 86 (which I think is the percentage) & 250 30p play if I turn refill key then it just says 100p in 350 but no lights flash anywhere so I turn refill key off again & press start it says csc...5 1.5 then reels spin round as if resetting then goes straight to demo mode ie:puts 15.00 up if u then turn refill key at that point just flashes short term meters for a second then on vtp 30 so sounds like collector mode!! & pressing cancel just clears meters!!! & start button just goes through menu I described in last post so annoying looks like im goin to have to play it in silence just not the same!!

also on my other machine barcrest again gimme gimme gimme £25 jackpot exactly same problem only diff is if both doors closed its still in demo mode so cant play with coins if I wanted to not a problem coz only play in demo just bit weird & would be a problem if I ever came to sell!! but cant turn volume down on that either any other thoughts b welcome cheers buzzer

defo can be dome throuigh refil key.

try turning refil key while holding down one of the hold/nudge buttons. ( i think the one at the left is most likely)

just tried that buzzer but no luck tried holding all diff buttons down! obviously some fault has developed from when I used to change volume with no problems!!

any idea why the other machine is on demo with doors open or closed so cant play with coins?
