Machine fault help

Hi, i have a QPS full metal jackpots machine in my garage and now and then when someone puts a pound in it the machine switches off for a second and says initialising, as if it has been switched off and on, goes thru the brief reel spinning then is playable with the pound credit showing?? no idea why, is this a know fault?

could be the power supply.

Random resetting does point to the PSU as Mr Lugsy says. Dodgy capacitors are usually the top suspect.
Any idea what tech it's running? Impact?
