16 Note Mech Error - Cannonball Run

Post by Dan_lee82 »

Hi all, wondered if any of you could please help me.

On start up my fruit machine is displaying the message "1.6 note mech error" BUT it does not have a note accepter!

I only got the machine yesterday and it worked fine for a whole evening, today I pressed the dump hopper button, nothing happened - about a minute later I gave up and went to shut the door, all of a sudden all the pound coins got dispensed. Then it started buzzing loudly, flashing a lot and wouldn't initialise anymore!

I read it could be a flat battery not remembering the settings and therefore thinking I do have a note accepter. However I have no idea where the battery is or what battery i need to replace it with.

Could it be anything else?

PLEASE HELP!!!

Behind the main reels I have two lots of 8 switches. At the moment all of these switches are in the off position. I've not changed anything since I got the machine and it worked fine until I pressed the dump hopper button.

Probably a dead and leaking battery. It's a big cause of failure on these machines, and not only will it cause the machine to do bizarre and random things, it will also forget settings.

Check on the board with the dip switches - there will be a small green battery. You may have to look very carefully underneath/around it to see the leakage though.
