Hi there, i recently bought a double dragon machine with only one fault which was that the transfer button did not work, though this isnt a big issue i decided to have a look and see if it was just a loose connection or something simple like that, i removed the wires from the micro switch to see if the contacts were damaged but couldnt see anything bad so put the plugs back ont the switch, closed up the machine and switched it on again, however since doing this none of the buttons are responding at all, everything seems to be fine as far as the machine is concerned but i can't do anything
when switched on it goes into normal play mode and accepts money but the start button can't be pressed
when attempting to put it in test mode it first asks if i would like to check the metres but as i cant press cancel for no or start for yes i am unable to ge past this, any help anyone can give would be greatly appreciated, thank you

it looks like it is in door open mode and because none of the buttons are working ,it looks like you have a broken common wire( one colour wire that links all of your switches on your buttons and door switch)

yeah thats what i figured, have been looking through the ground wire (green on this) and not found any breaks. i then tested the connectors and found one of them was pressured a little too much and now the buttons are fine again, though the "transfer" button and the left "lo" button still aren't working so im back at the start with those, any ideas?

Simple solution really, which as a simple bloke, is the way I like things. All you need do, if you've not done so already, is swap one of the known good switches, with one of the bad ones. Now test it again. Has the fault moved with the switch ? If so, you know it is the actual switch that is faulty. If the fault stays where it is, then the fault is likely to be in the wiring somewhere. My money would be on a duff switch though.

have swapped the switch as i had a few spare microswitches laying around but it made no difference, so started trying to find a break in the wire but no luck there yet either unfortunately, thanks for your help thus far

If you have a multimeter then simply do a continouty test on the wire, put one probe on the plug thats plugged into the board, and the other probe at the switch end and see if you get a reading, if not then you either have a broken wire and because its an oldish machine i would imagine it is, OR if the wires fine then check for a dry joint on the plug to the main board

does your machine have a note acceptor fitted? the transfer button will only work with one fitted but machines with the option of a note acceptor still left the factory with the transfer button even though it does nothing untill one is fitted.....hope this helps
