not gonna defend crouch lad he was terrible but then again so were the rest of the players. Lampard had shot after shot high and wide. Beckham couldnt cross to save his life today.
Only decent player on the pitch was terry, lennon had a good little show when he came on, made some good runs but still looked a bit out of place at times.
All in all a terrible showing, gotta improve on this, if it is ecuador next round they look pretty good at the moment

yeah 2-0 and 3-0.
Germany 2nd now, so whoever wins germany-ecuador will probably play England in Round 2

I'm gonna defend Peter Crouch - he's having stick hurled his way left, right and centre yet he's scoring goals and he's only been playing international football for 5 minutes.
I've been at 4 Premiership matches when he's been on the field. Every time, I've left knowing that throughout his career, he's gonna play an ugly game. It's never going to be pretty; it'll often look sloppy, ungainly, scrappy, call it what you will - but he keeps at it and doesn't give up. And like you said Tka, his persistance made it possible for a nation sleep easier tonight.
So why are we knocking our team so much?! Everyone wants us to play the perfect match at the moment - it NEVER happens like that in the group stages - you just have to scrap your way through. Played 2, Won 2 - and we're still moaning.
For christs' sake, if we win the whole tournament and EVERY performance is like todays, will we be lining the streets booing and telling them how awful they were? Win the group games and save the flash stuff for later.
Come on England!

I look forward to us playing teams that aren't prepared to sit back and watch us piss around with the ball for 80 mins.
Sadly i see little else happening should we play equador.
Is anyone secretly hoping we actually play Germany??

whoever plays germany in the last 16 and quarters will have to play against 12 men. the referee will be hugely biased towards the host nation. the sausage-eaters won't get knocked out until the semis

what about argentina winning 6-0? i expect us to play to our ability - that hasnt happened for years, and certainly not this world cup...
Owen was diar, and crouch was too - one thing i give crouch credit for is atleast he is trying

We have played badly but we have 6 points. Lets hope Erikson plays a bit more positive in the knockout rounds.

yeah, hope so - there's some sign he knows what he's doing. I think bringing Lennon and Rooney on was good substitutions - but then you gotta wonder again when he brings on downing for cole.
