I'm looking for some divine inspiration here chaps, especially from you business types!
Though i already own a nice suit and a decent pair of loafers, my current effort (white and blue pinstripe shirt with a blue silk tie) is dated. I need something new for two reasons:
a) Off to Wetherby racing next thursday
b) Uni summer ball next friday
I'm not into this boring plain stuff, so i wanted something different. I was quite keen on a plain black shirt with a tangerine orange tie, 'cos its awesome and loud. Having trouble getting the tie though, and my have to go for something else. Anyone got any gems they can suggest for me?

an orange tie works very well with grey or pale blue shirt.
a rich brown tie on white looks good too. all about your own taste really. less is nearly always more with ties unless you want to look like gyles brandreth's son.
don't wear a red tie though because gay men use red ties as a secret symbol to each other.

Haha yes, i'm all too aware of this red tie thing that gay men have going on. I did chuckle when the whole Liverpool team turned up in them last week
I'll have a scout round town tomorrow, mixed in with a gambling session. Happy days!

i personally think black shirts look best with a grey suit..
wen i do get one of my suits out i like to go with light brown shirts. (not shit colour ones) and a darker tie..
but then i liek the indie approach so it depends on your tastes.
blue is always a safe best...
light with a black suit and dark with grey.
hope this has been some help mate
you got any famous people at your grad ball matt?
we got the delights of rach stevens, paul robinson from neighbours and sum shit girls band
£75 for that i think not :P

Bradford Bulls - who are they? Oh yeah, they lost at Hull a couple of weeks back lol!
This "I'm not wearing a red tie 'cause somebody might think I'm gay."
How insecure do you have to be to be influenced by this crap? School playground stuff. You know your own sexuality - why give a rat's arse?

Just don't go for a big pink tie - always think it gives a person that 'photocopier-admin-boy' look...

Light tan shoes and belt can look cool with a dark suit and could give you the edge your looking for instead of a garish tie. You have to jusge the occasion though to check if this is suitable. The tie should pick out a colour or pattern in the suit and be set against a fairly plain shirt (no mad colours or patterns). Wear plain black socks, avoid novelty cufflinks and always make sure your belt and shoes match.
But I could be wrong and may well have been looking a muppet at formal occasions.
