It's almost upon us once more. 20th May is the date of the final.
Representing us this year we have Daz Sampson - Teenage Life.
If anyone doesn't know who Daz is, he was one half of Uniting Nations who had the hit 'Out Of Touch'. He was also in Bus Stop, who covered Get It On and Kung Fu Fighting. The song is basically a rap over a basic beat with some added strings and a kids choir for the chorus. It's probably the best song we've had for the last few years (Jemini/Javine/James Fox anyone?) and is average at best. Of course it'll still dive though.
The BBC don't want to win (hosting costs) so they pick an obscure act, and the political voting ruins it all anyway. Baltic states sticking together and Greece/Cyprus giving each other 10 points etc.
Last year in the bottom 5 were the richest European nations of UK, Spain, France and Germany, which just says it all really.
It's worth watching for Wogans impeccable and tidy delivery of wit and sarcasm about the whole thing, and the ridiculous welcomes from the different countires involved.
