Quadruple parking

Popped down to London recently to see family. Stopped off at South Mimms. Across 4 bays there was a black Audi A4, 14 plate. I've seen people take two bays on purpose to avoid other car doors bumping their pride and joy, but 4 bays? It had driven half way forward into the other side's two bays. Is that to stop people parking opposite you who may not apply the brake properly? Taking selfish to new levels, mind you there are plenty of spaces there.

If I ever catch someone keying my car, I'll key their face.
