When the Wind Blows - by Raymond Briggs, the same guy who did the Snowman. Anyone else seen it? Not strictly a war film, but it demonstrates the true horror and futility of a nuclear conflict.

Especially pertinent given the announcement just made by North Korea

Is that the shortish film about the people making a shelter in their house YE? If so i've seen it (while back now mind you), very good indeed.

It was actually a film though quite short, so you're bang on there Matt.

The cartoon highlighted the sheer pointlessness of carrying out the Government "Protect and Survive" constructions in the event of nuclear fallout. This film, despite being a cartoon, captured it perfectly.

Here is more info for anyone that's interested.
