straight forward enough until they hit you with their standard claims dilution tactics so most claims drop off at the first hurdle , which include 'you didnt have ppi' which is their blag hoping that you don't have p/work to back the claim up(it's amazing how they backtrack when a copy of an agreement gets thrust their way), or it wasn't missold even though you were told you couldn't have the loan unless you take the ppi.

DSAR(detailed subject access request) by law a lender has to respond to it within 40 days. they will have to provide you with everything they have on you. will cost you 10 quid a pop in admin fees usually though.
if accounts have been dead more than 6 years they may tell you they no longer have details though.

Mmmm i must have been lucky with them
Never filled in a form first time, just rang them and told them i wanted to claim and my reasons
I had a deep vein thrombosis that moved onto my lungs years ago
They never asked about it and i knew that
Straightforward enough sent me a letter back, saying they admitted it
A couple of week later received a cheque for £1500
Second time was only last year
This time the bank in question wrote to me, basically saying i may have been mis-sold PPI
I had even forgotten about the loan from this bank lol
I filled in answers to their questions
A few week later they agreed it had been mis-sold and the amount was being worked out
Again a couple of week later i received a cheque for £1800
Never went out of my way on either occasion, and it was so easy i couldn't believe my luck
