The owner man bloke thing basically told me to fuck off. How rude. Would have you treated me with such ill-manners lugsy?

My bank will take as much as I give them. Think the record was I took £1300 in once. Very much a case of being too lazy about banking it.

What i've been doing recently though is taking loads of coins to me whenever I go to the casino. They have a machine in there that counts up at the cashiers desk and have no problem changing whatever amount I take them.

I have never had a problem paying coins in at Barclays. I have a 'limit' of around £300 a time, partly because I don't see the point of keeping more than that amount of cash in the car or at home. You often get a little quip/question like "Have you been saving up then?" - you see so many different staff over time if you use several branches - but half the time when I tell them the honest answer (I get them from long hours playing quiz machines) they don't seem to have a clue what I'm talking about!

One other tip is that they certainly have machines that collect coins and pay out notes in some supermarkets (notably Asda). I have always assumed there is some small charge for the service - otherwise why provide it? - but that might not be the case.

i'm surprised , he'll usually go to the safe for notes if they're not in the cash desk as long as you won them in there. i'd have probably told you to eff off aswell to be fair if they were from elsewhere anyway lol.

HSBC have coin counting machines that take any amount, that goes right into your account. Best thing to do is head for a welcome break services as their 777 b3 machines payout notes when you insert £20 in coins.

Never had a problem paying them in my Barclays account either. Few years back they'd even swap them for 50ps.

I usto have an arcade in Bognor where I would go in and use the change machine with no hassle, unfortunately this arcade has now been closed down due to the owner not paying his taxes!
