my views arn't narrow minded rich ,,,,,,,,,, they just come from the mind of a non-gambler . ,,,,, as a non gambler i present a voice of reason , i havent been tarnished from the sting of the relentless emotional roller coaster that the saddict has to endure . ,,,,,,,,, so i see things in black and white ,,,, as they are .

if you gamble , and you lose ,,,,,,, you have nobody to blame but yourself ,,,,,, end of (no rational person can argue with that)

please help me to understand how that is narrow minded rich ,,,,,,, i cant wait for your response .

of course the advertisers are going to push as far as the boundaries will allow when it comes to glamorising their product . ,,,,,,,,,,,,, what product doesn't ? ,,,,,,, cars , toys everything ,,,,,,,, tampax advertising would have you parachuting rock climbing etc.

i cant comment on the shady bonus enticements .

im sure some of them are deplorable .

I thought the thread was about advertising?

Not moaning if u lose?

That's a different subject all together.

Personally if one bookie is offering better odds than another and in some cases, significantly better, then I want to know about it!!

Obviously in my case this relates to footie bets, having made on football bets over the last 3 years, I'm certainly no 'mug' for being swayed by their advertising.

Mr Iconhop you seem to class anybody that uses the bookies as a degenerate roulette addict. Which is simply not the case. But of course there are always exceptions to that.

I dont care what people say playing machines is gambling, u might win 9/10 . but u are still investing money, with not a guarenteed outcome. playing fruit machines is gambling

no i dont bfk not attall in any way shape or form ,,,,,, you have me totally wrong,,,,,,,,,,,,,, i simply think people should be responsible for their own decision's

blaming their circumstances on shady glamorous advertising , or any other factor they wish to try to justify .simply cuts no ice with me.

for example a mega deal on 70 cash pot, not gtd raise
empire trail holding, not gtg raise
perfect red boxing, not gtd raise
ltd- open boarding, not gtd raise.
big reds-open boarding, not gts raise.
electro- numbering, not gtd raise
red gaming- red boarding offering 25 quid win. not gtd raise

i could go on and on........its still gambling. we might win on the month or on the year but in essence u are still gambling

i agree mav , at its heart it is ,,,,,,,,,,,, but we work with an edge ,,,,,,,,,,, if we didn't have that edge , i would do something else with my life. get a job etc ,,,,,,,,, so i dont consider the average disciplined pro fruit player a gambler ,,,,,,, not in the typical sense

If you can't see how your comments are narrow-minded then you are either thick or on the wind-up. The fact you have referred to people who gamble as saddicts is narrow-minded in itself. Allow me to attempt to convey my sentiments in simple terms for you.

You say your comments are from the mind of a non-gambler. Therefore you have stated that you see it from one perspective only, and not from every angle. This view is N-A-R-R-O-W M-I-N-D-E-D. You then state that as a non-gambler you present a voice of reason. I must admit my eye rolled when I read that. Its not a voice of reason is it? It is the opinion of someone who has pigeon-holed everyone who likes to bet, and labelled them as saddicts.

When I walk into a betting shop I don't regard every customer as someone who has a gambling problem, I first regard them as human beings who like to wager money on the outcome of sporting or non sporting events.

Branding gamblers 'saddicts' is likely to offend 99% of the people on here, and a huge majority of the population. If someone is sat in the pub with a pint in his hand does it mean they are an alcoholic? By your logic it does.

Much of what you say is narrow minded and judgemental. It's as simple as that.

You might describe yourself as a comic enthusiast who has a particular interest in Superman, and a collector of related memorabilia.

A narrow-minded person, with no interest in comics etc might refer to you as a weirdo in his 40's who still reads comics and plays with kids Superman toys. Me, as a broad minded person, would probably say don't knock it til you've tried it.

Do you see where I am going with this?

I've met you once in real life, you seemed like a decent enough person, and I stand by my initial judgement. However, online you come across as a complete cunt.

This is a rare time when i can see your point on this one Mc Streak, i think Lee is generalising here though. I dont think he means to come across as narrowminded but alas he does lol. I like to have a flutter on some stuff, i dont regard myself as an addict though, i dont have to gamble. i just choose to, i think it becomes a problem when you spend your last pound gambling and you cant afford to eat or drink or pay your bill or rent

This thread has got a bit tasty in the last hour. I'm off out for my weekend stroll on the beach, but I expect 5 pages by the time I get back to put my tea on. All I will say about Payday Loans at this point is that I think they are aimed specifically at people who won't be able to climb out of the inevitable hole they will get themselves into, and as for advertising gambling on TV - well, it does get on my tits and there's too much of it. They should stop it until after 10pm I reckon. You don't want your kids to watch the Monday evening game on Sky and then see gambling adverts come up in the half-time break surely?
